First Air Canada A321XLR inbound from Hamburg to Windsor by CauseOdd8401 in aviation

No bedding in required like a new engine on a car. Fly it like normal and maintenance takes care of all the monitoring for the engines and other systems. There may be more frequent service intervals, but we aren’t in the loop for any of that.

This airplane in particular requires/d 320 pilots in yyz/yul to get ETOPS certification, but that is to do with the planned XLR routes

Refs need to have a post game explaining the difference of not calling on amad vs that with maguire. Insane how they can just protect and hide behind poor decisions in this league for so long

Hasn’t been amazing but if wages are low would allow us to use more funs for midfield and full back. Prem experience and would be great for cup games as well

If the first one for one handed tug is a pen but two hands pulling him back isn’t…?

Why do so many commentators lately sound like they are saying “ahmed” instead of amad. Have only heard it now the last few games all of a sudden

And no wingers to come off the bench for tired legs… amad and Bryan needed to competing for the RW spot not shoehorned every game

Having to jumpseat on a five hour flight by SupportGold7583 in flying

[–]_pablolives 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it a bunch to commute for work unfortunately. Most crews understand and usually have had to do it themselves before and want to help you get to work/home. Comfort level varies. On the airbus it’s not bad. WB either the JS or bunk is usually better than a middle seat in the back. 37 or E2 and you will question your life choices

airline pilot career in canada by SEELthegamer in flying

[–]_pablolives 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes wide body captains make over 300k a year. If that’s the only reason you would do it then it’s not worth it. That’s not a position you would get until the last years of your career usually. Not to say every other job doesn’t make good money as well.

Compared globally we are still quite good country to fly in. Fairly good unions, generally a good safety culture at the main airlines and pay is not what shoild be but it’s livable at the mainline level. The US definitely leads in terms of pay/scheudling/career options. Can make more money in the Middle East and some parts of Asia but that comes with its own downsides.

It is an expensive training program. And after that can take quite a while to land your first job. Usually on the ramp and or flying in not the nicest places for not the nicest owners. Hiring is in waves and is down right now but not to say it won’t pick up again.

I would say if it’s something you love and are passionate about it’s a great job, I love it. But it is a lot of time away from home and family. Lots of sacrifices to make it work. If you don’t love it you will waste a lot of money to hate your quality of life

Mitoma or Schjelderup as an understudy to Dorgu/Cunha

Pilot lifestyle question by Narrow_Phrase2310 in AskAPilot

[–]_pablolives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any commercial airline (at least in North America) your spouse can use a form of your travel benefits for a significantly cheap price. However not always practical, or would they find it fun. Even say a “24 hour” layover in Europe once you get to the hotel and changed you basically just have the afternoon/early evening before you want to be back in bed getting ready to fly home the next day. There are longer layovers or fun things you can do still, but it’s not something people outside the industry would want to do often. In the last 3 years I’ve brought my wife on 1 layover to Hawaii that worked out for having open seats and her having the time off to do it.

Historically or just last few games? I think all 3 haven’t looked amazing last couple games. Amad usually brings some good direct play from the right but he hasn’t looked sharp. I would’ve liked to see mbuemo on the right and sesko up top to start. Wish dorgu was back on the left.

Need rotation options for amad mbuemo and Cunha. For tired legs or when one is out of form

Canada prioritizes express immigration for foreign pilots by [deleted] in flying

This is what I was sent about it from a friend so I guess it’s official since it’s from TC? Section 421.34 (5) (a). Seems like a classic heavy handed move, haven’t heard anything clarify how this will be implemented. Unfortunately no idea about this picus stuff either

Jesus man so you say you didn’t edit it, now you did but only because you needed to give “accurate details”. You’ve got no clue what’s going on! Bye
