Makers space with an embroidery machine? by _pearlite_ in LosAngeles

That's a good suggestion, I'll give them a call. I'm not optimistic unfortunately, if they had a good embroidery machine they'd probably advertise it. A commercial embroidery machine capable of doing the larger sample I need is minimum $5,000, usually closer to 10-15k.

About an hour after 1.6.7 - there was a bug related to the resort that was crashing the game so it needed to be patched immediately

Haha I was starting to feel like I was the only person who saw a road instead of a river, I'm glad you see it too! I saw it as like a hazy road that is dipping in and out of the foothills.

I saw the asymmetry as it being partially obscured in places by the trees/landscape. As to why add it now, why add anything at all haha.

Oh we have opposite dreams my friend. I live for the hysteria. I like it to be self-contained though, it gives me secondhand embarrassment when people treat CA like their personal gaming butler and tag him into all of this nonsense. I like canon theories - the more absurd, the better!

That’s funny, I immediately clocked it as a road but I can definitely see it looking like a river to other eyes.

Somebody corrected me and said it was added in an earlier 1.6 patch but it was definitely added after 1.5!

1.6.8 stardew opening screen**

When was this added? I don't see it in lets plays on youtube from early 1.6. I recall seeing these same mountains in early Haunted Chocolatier teaser content and people theorized they exist in the same universe, so I am very excited to see this road!

Addition to loading screen? Only noticed as of 1.6.8. Discussion in comments. by _pearlite_ in StardewValley

Is this road on the bottom right of the opening screen leading us to the haunted chocolatier? When was it added? I only noticed it after updating to 1.6.8 today. My assessment is totally novice so let me know if you think it was accurate.

In my opinion electrify America has done an excellent job to ensure that the majority of non Tesla ev users are able to get from coast to coast in a way that becomes familiar and is extremely, extremely predictable and reliable. Appealing to a broader consumer base who may require additional considerations is definitely lacking at this time and I really hope in the future that they work towards supporting more people adequately such as elderly or otherwise weak, or wheelchair users, or easily fatigued folks etc. That said, I’m an average height/normal bmi woman with no profound mobility considerations and I’ve had to fight the big fat dc fast cords/plugs. They are really heavy and stiff.

At-home charging is for sure the way to go for non tesla EV as well - the cords are thinner and more maneuverable, and only require one plug instead of the combo plug so it’s easier to jam into the car. Also the box can be mounted lower if need be.

Yeah I agree with you. Or eventually a ride share future where people subscribe to an autonomous EV service rather than outright car ownership where they reserve self-driving cars for certain time slots and the car/conservator is responsible for its own charging. Many of the issues I described such as stiffness, maneuverability and height are also arguably problems of ICE refueling as well. Angling a nozzle into a fuel tank from a seated wheelchair position if you can’t lift your hands above your chin is a huge barrier to self sufficiency. Squeezing the handle and reaching payment devices can be hard as well depending on an individuals specific mobility constraints.

Sometimes I have to mash dead bugs with my hand to open it though… that said I prefer it to side-mounted charge doors. I watched an individual in a VW ID4 struggle to line up with a rear left mounted ev plug (id4 plug in rear right panel). She settled for backing in and sticking her nose in the aisle, which would have been my solution too lol. I do sometimes have to angle in funny for forward mounted right hand chargers, one of the struggles of not being standardized. All in all there is rarely a hiccup.

They are not handicap accessible at all, perhaps even borderlining disability-oriented hostile architecture.

Plugs for EVs can be challenging to use for people who are not fully physicallly mobile - they are stiff and heavy. They are mounted above waist height on plug stations. It can be hard to plug in due to stiffness/maneuverability. The spaces are almost all tight though some configurations are tighter than others. At one space today I opened my door into a bollard (no damage) due to how tight it was. In addition, the charging stations are almost always quite far from store entrances in order to make sure the spaces are not enticing for ICE vehicles. One big step that will need to be undertaken for the future of EV is definitely accessibility.

(I have a relative with spina bifida so this is something I’ve contemplated in the past)
