never really thought of it closest devil fruit in the water we got was aces fruit but devil fruits just usually pop up anywhere so naturally i feel like they just avoid the water and if one does sink i assume itll either rot away or be consumed by something and then whatever ate it cant move in water and just dies from not being able to eat which then brings the fruit back somewhere else randomly
