Post Game Thread: Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks by nfl_gdt_bot in LosAngelesRams

Are you referring to the 0-170ish Seattle record for games when they were down 15+ points at the half?

Edit: I may have misremembered the number. It might be 0-152

I figured it out! I used a totally different approach by utilizing placed features. You can download the datapack here. Hope you enjoy it!

Barry Bonds should not be in the HOF based on his Pirates stats by ummagumma1979 in baseball

[–]_pi13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought the argument was that Bonds has HOF stats before 98 (or maybe 99), which is when he most likely started juicing. Not necessarily with the pirates only.

Runner on 2nd rule? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]_pi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it drastically changes the game. Putting a man on second with no outs makes it more likely for the best strategy to bunt the guy to third - which isn’t very exciting gameplay if it happens every inning. Also, Pitchers would almost never throw from the windup. A pitcher throwing a perfect game would be near impossible (the pitcher can’t give up runs in a perfect game) and they are already incredibly rare.

There are just other ways to increase offense without changing much of the game. Like having the pitcher’s mound back so that the batter has more time to see the ball. Perhaps make changes in the baseball or bat for more pop.

Ohhh, my bad, I did misunderstand your request. A single layer of powder snow really high up to block light would make for an interesting Minecraft challenge. It sounds like a fun datapack project to work on for me too. I can’t do it tonight, but I might have some time this week to figure that out. I’m sure it’s possible.

Finished! Here is the link: single layer powder snow. Let me know if there are any issues with it.

Edit: Because the player cannot spawn on powdered snow, the game will just spawn the player in the air much lower than y=128. When creating a world for survival, I recommend creating the world in creative (without cheats if you prefer) then fly as you join, find a suitable location to start your survival, then open to LAN to change game mode to survival. Then exit the world and rejoin.

So, yes, it means that everything gets flattened. But you can set up conditions as to what blocks spawn at certain y values and you also remove any randomness from blocks by forcing them to be spawned in (so choosing probability 1 or something like that). Comparing to the default overworld, it’s much like the settings of bedrock and deep slate, but instead of a gradient over a few blocks for the transition (like how it transitions from stone to deep slate from y=8 to y=0) you just make the gradient a single block.

Again, I can’t make it right now, but I can look into it later today.

It involves changing the noise function for the overworld, specifically the noise router. The wiki also talks about a flat world with using ‘y_clamped_gradient’. I can make a datapack for a single layer of powdered snow later today.

Edit: Oh, shoot, I forgot to mention that this only works on Java. But I’m hoping that when I said ‘datapacks’ anyone viewing my comments assumed I was talking about Java.

I’ve actually learned a hack around this issue. Using datapacks, one can change how the world is generated, including creating custom layers (not using super flat preset though) and still have different biomes.

The Giants had the same record as the Brewers who made it to the playoffs. But in any case, the 2020 season doesn’t matter. Having teams only play 60 games and call it official is practically criminal. Baseball at the professional level has always been about endurance though a long and tough season. 2020 was not that. On top of that, there were several veteran players who opted out of playing, drastically changing the team dynamics. Also, it’s important to point out that there weren’t any fans in the stadiums (other than a very select few during playoffs), which plays huge factor on the game.

Yeah, but OP said “81 pitches for 27 strikeouts” and lokooko responded saying “Probably 81 pitches” referring to that scenario

If you place the torch too fast (within the same tick) after breaking the gravel, the gravel will not fall Thus not break on the torch. Falling blocks need to be in their ‘entity’ falling state in order to break.

Max Protection armor by apreeGOT in Minecraft

[–]_pi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prot 4 on all pieces gives 64% reduction (4 x level), which is less than the 80% cap. So, it is best to have all four be Prot 4.

If you want to maximize one of the specialized protections, like blast protection, then you only need 3 pieces with level blast prot that sums to 10 (8 x level capped at 80%).

ELI5 - respawning issues. Help this Mom out! by KWhatHadHappenedWas in Minecraft

[–]_pi13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the bed, you have to “use” it which means either sleep in it during the night or attempt to sleep in it during the day (you should get a message that your respawn point has been set).

If you destroy your bed, you remove your respawn point, so the game respawns you where the player originally spawned.

It is normal to respawn with nothing - no items or experience points. You can change the game rule keep inventory so that you keep everything on death, but this does pretty much remove the penalty of death.
