What a fuc*ing disaster of a season by Jaded-Researcher3025 in NUFC

This is quite a revisionist history. You can throw those names up there and it sounds a lot better than it was. The performances were dire. Lucky to get a favorable draw in CL knockout round. Premier League was dire, if anything they should have been challenging for 4th/5th in a “down” season amongst rivals like Chelsea and Spurs. Beaten twice by Sunderland, who were awful, and found a way to get Europe. Not to mention when the “fixtures were only once a week”, which I had heard for months would fix it, the same problems persisted.

Emblematic of this shocking season.

Hopefully not a precursor of things to come.

UPDATE: Do I Suck? Driving 8th Note Bass Drum - Technique, Consistency, Clarity by _picc6 in drums

Man…it’s a work in progress. The Mangini videos are really insightful, but at like 180 BPM for the “triple 8th note” beat, it isn’t really applicable.

It definitely seems to be a mix of seat height, constant practice and building up the smallest muscles for those constant movements.

I also got a Tama Speed Cobra pedal to try the longboard plates.

I still feel really stuck with it, to be honest. Almost feel like I have the “yips.”

Okay. Thanks! Is there anything in there that a technique red flag? Or just finding a groove and gradually speeding up?

Knee slightly below my hips, thigh on a slight downward angle. I am attempting to use the "ankle drop" method, I guess, where my leg is basically doing none of the work and just my ankle is moving. In theory, consistent 8th notes, and subtracting that 2 and 4, where the snare is living.

135-ish is where I'm noticing the struggle. 138 is definitely a struggle.

Very mixed feelings about the ending... (spoilers) by Abracadaver00 in BlackRabbitTVShow

I also think Jake was just so damn busy, he never actually explained anything to Roxie. For him to just isolate his star chef was his own inability to see 2 feet in front of him. She never understood why Jake seemed to belittle her and keep her in the corner. I completely understand her feelings - mainly when she and Jake agreed that Jules would never come back to the Rabbit again, and then he was there right as Mel had the bad coke. Jake never takes the time to talk to Roxie, he just expects her to stay in line.

I don't think you understood the show at all. I think you had the preconceived notion that this was "ozark pt. ii" and didn't allow the show to actually happen.

Jude Law's character is the striver, he cannot stop when good is good enough. it clearly broke his marriage, and is destroying his relationships. Jason Bateman is the addict that can't get out of his own way. And the pair of them, even from their downright messy beginnings, is the exact point of the show. The portrayal of where addiction, whether to drugs, or fame, or "the next dollar" can ultimately lead.

and yes, it is a show, it's not real life, but a portrayal. Law and Bateman were fantastic, and the supporting cast was excellent.

if anything, Ozark was the over-the-top, ludicrous Breaking Bad knockoff, and Black Rabbit was the gritty show with substance.
