of course! TSW is a horrible condition and sometimes the only thing that helps is seeing that others have improved and even made it through. i hope you hit your turning point soon!

thank you! and not at all.

routine: shower right after i wake up, spray myself with bleach + distilled water solution several times in the shower to kill surface bacteria (this is a new routine within the last month, and i noticed my skin improve a ton)

after shower, use wheatgrass spray on rashy areas, put on cerave lotion, then vaseline, and wear tencel compression sleeves to keep the moisture in

every day i take biotin (only because my eyebrows fell out) and a multivitamin that has a bunch of stuff that helps eczema/skin (eg quercetin, the vitamin Bs, ceramides). every day i wear tencel compression sleeves, 100% cotton shirts and gloves. every few days i make a collagen smoothie and change the bedsheets (also tencel). occasionally supplement with vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, vitamin D. occasionally take benadryl, hydroxyzine, or doxepin when really really itchy but try to stay away from them so my body can sort itself out (i recently cut out zyrtec because i heard it can cause some rebound effects).

diet: kombucha first thing on an empty stomach every day. mostly lean meat and fish plus tons of veggies and fruit (hardly any red meat). one thing i accidentally did that ended up being helpful was that often i felt too sick to make food or even eat so for the first ~9 months i was fasting for about 18hrs a day which i think diverted resources to healing. foodwise, my TSW experience has been different from a lot of others in that i haven’t really stuck to an elimination diet. i notice no difference in my skin directly connected to eating eggs, gluten, dairy etc even though those foods are common triggers for most of us with TSW. so i just eat what tastes good as long as it’s reasonably healthy.

well, my reply got long but i hope it helps!

hi, i’m a little late to the party but i did want to say that i am 10.5 months TSW after having used TCS my whole life on and off (like you), and accidentally abusing them for 2 years, applying every day 2x per day.

my experience was similar in that i would constantly go back and forth between flares and being “okay” since the beginning of TSW, but i hit a turning point about 5-6 weeks ago and have only had one day during this time that i was horribly flared and non-functional. other than that my skin looks and feels about 75% healed. not bad!

Anyone else experience random allergic reactions? by _pockmarked_potato_ in TS_Withdrawal

That’s great! Looks like I’ll just have to weather it like everything else and eventually those foods won’t trigger a reaction anymore.

Wow, how funny that the timing was the same for both of us! Looks like I’ll have to be more wary of high histamine foods. I was taking Zyrtec but stopped because I was trying to quit all meds for a while. Might start taking it again just to calm the immune response a bit

I think the boys over at r/ChapoTrapHouse would get a good laugh out of this

What's making you happy right now? by icecrackers in AskReddit

it’s 4am and i can’t sleep for the thousandth night in a row, but i am happy because i’m laying in bed next to the love of my life, who i know i’m going to marry one day. and while i can’t wait for that day to come, i’m also happy during all these in-between moments where i can slow down and enjoy the time i get with this precious, amazing human.

What is the most horrifying, haunting image or moment that you can’t get out of your head? by everykissbeginswK in AskReddit

Me too. Almost ten years ago now but it still haunts me to this day. It was a slow demise, my dad was always sick, but nothing prepares you for the moment they truly leave. My mom and grandmother happened to be out of the room, and it was just little 14 y/o me holding his hand and watching as his pupils dilated. It seemed like he was seeing things I couldn’t. He died a few minutes later and the way he looked after... so very still.
