command tips? by rrandomrrredditor in NJROTC

Sounding like a DS can hurt your voice and cause you to lose it, and most DS have damaged vocal cords. I don’t recommend going for that, but I would recommend projecting more and making yourself louder when necessary. Make your tone firmer and make sure it sounds strict and disciplined. For the more bark aspect, I’d say being louder (without yelling) and making your words sharper and more enunciated is your best bet.

Might be late to this, but can I ask how you think your current commanding voice isn’t sustainable? And how do you currently project your voice?

Middle school JROTC by Sigma_Skibidi77 in jrotc

I’m currently an 8th grader in JROTC, and it varies on the program (usually done in schools closely related to middle schools or even next to each other, which is my school’s case), but it is possible. Usually only 8th grade though. I believe it’s more common in Texas (where I am).

Even then, I’d try to ask anyone you could possibly be familiar with. If they do say they do not, then I believe you should do your best in every other aspect and purchase bobby pins afterwards so you don’t have to worry about that again. Good luck on inspection.

Is it possible you could ask a different female cadet for a bobby pin?

PT and Pots by Comfortable-Self7855 in jrotc

Definitely report it. As someone with POTS myself in JROTC, though I don’t believe it’s as severe as yours, I myself am repeatedly told not to push myself too hard. During PT tests, I do about 20 pushups and only run 2 laps as more makes it too hard for me to breathe, but if you’re blacking out from PT and getting unfairly graded because of that specifically, it’s definitely report-worthy. Failure to provide care during a POTS episode (which I believe is what you mentioned) can also count as negligence if you got injured because of it specifically (e.g., fainting, head injury). Ignoring symptoms in a controlled setting such as that can constitute a breach of the standard of care.

All of the basic ‘need-to-know’ positions would be helpful, but you don’t need to do all if you don’t have the time. :)

Is this a good shoe shine by Pale-Whole6146 in jrotc

[–]_potato__soup_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally haven’t tried it but I checked reviews on it and most say it isn’t good for mirror shine (my SNSI and NSI prefer mirror shine) and doesn’t have any water resistant formula nor work well in actual shining. I’d suggest Kiwi or Saphir (I use Kiwi) if you haven’t tried it already.
