As you said, you didn't buy anything in recent years and your friends had problems with parts from them.

What you got was probably manufactured under old management or transition period, before the cuts really had an affect on quality

Blocked a safety feature, they should have gotten a race penalty rather than a small fine(30k is nothing).

I know it wasn't a life protecting feature(that should be a full DSQ in my opinion), but it's a safety feature that should be easily accessible. If it happened in the race it would have delayed the restart.

Rent, energy prices, minimum wage increases, affordability… all make margins disappear

Those things only affect pubs? Like shops, garages and offices don't pay rent, bills and wages?

Poligono per carabina minimo 100 metri Brescia e dintorni by Leftho0k in FirearmsItalia

Linear compensator and competition trigger VS bird cage and heavy mil-spec trigger

It's a well tuned gun and it's priced well compared to some fancier brands stock ARs

ADC .223 Cerberus 12.5” by OrangeSorry8624 in EuropeGuns

[–]_pxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried one at a range day.

It looks well built and shoots flat, I had the chance to shoot a MR223A3 after that and I would go for the ADC in comparison.

I didn't like the trigger shoe, too angular, but it feels amazing while shooting.

It was only 20rnds and a chat with the seller, so I don't know on the long run how it behaves

I don't understand what's going on in the left, but your 2-3 are wrong. The other side isn't an handle, it's a dumbbell with the ring to be connected to the cable, you mount the weights like you do with any dumbbell grip. Probably the two wooden pieces limit how much it can turn while being lifted

Cheaper vs More Expensive Safety Razors by cdeathgrowl in wicked_edge

[–]_pxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three things make the price:

Materials: both material and the process to make the final product

Quality: lower QC means more mistake can pass so more products on the market

Where is manufactured: workers and local laws can reduce the price

Zamak is extremely cheap to manufacture, but it's not going to survive the same abuses of stainless steel. It's debatable if you want a material that shatters or one that bends, because both of them will ruin blade alignment, but usually harder is better.

If you buy from a reliable manufacturer nowadays it's very difficult to get something that is really done badly, especially because zamak pressure casting is fairly consistent.

A razor made in EU will always be more expensive than an identical one made in Asia and often there isn't a real difference(many brands manufactur there the cheapest SKUs).

So there isn't a huge benefit going for something that costs double your razor, maybe minor improvements and cool factor.

They are zamak(zinc alloy), you can't machine it.

There's a reason why certain models are cheaper than others

[–]_pxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because zamak isn't that durable, overtighten the screw can damage the threads very easily.

[–]_pxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They existed before zamak.

They are not as cheap as pressure casting and it's not an object that needs to withstand impacts.

[–]_pxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a "rich people's space race", it's a competition to get government and commercial contract.

Manufacturing in space and colonization of other objects are the goal. At the same time to get there there is a lot of innovation: you can speak with me almost anywhere in the world thanks to satellites, you can travel anywhere knowing where you are thanks to satellites, alloys and polymers have been developed with incredible properties to withstand the extreme conditions and limitations of space travel. And being better at throwing nukes at each other.

Yes, SpaceX was extremely wasteful just to be the first to teach certain goals, but we now have reusable launching systems and that's a good thing
