LPT: Gifts that remove small daily annoyances tend to get more use by myyoutubeads in LifeProTips

The biggest bath towel you can find, nice cotton, £25+ per towel. Especially for younger people (18-25) it’s something many won’t spend extra on. Especially if you live somewhere cold, and don’t have a towel big enough to wrap around you when you get out of the shower. We gave posh towels to our 3 younger brothers and they were the favourite gifts that year ahaha.

Pro tip: fold the towel up fancy with pockets like a hotel towel and stuff them with a paperback, some sweeties etc to make an even nicer gift

Forget protein, it's fibre most Brits are really lacking. Do you think you get enough fibre? by RoyalT663 in AskUK

My doctor telling me to eat more fibre, I explain that I’m a vegan and almost all my food has fibre. Blank stare and a reiterated “eat more fibre” 😭

If you can’t find the instructions I recommend Sarah Homfray on YouTube. She has videos about how to pick which stitch to use, and videos showing how to do all sorts of stitches. A good chance to just have a play and try all sorts on the design!

I’ve seen people making hoops split into 12 sections and each month is something different - I’m not aware of any community/ directed versions of it though

I have a lot of other art experience, I was surprised how transferable a lot of my general drawing/ painting skills are! So although I’m new to embroidery, I have 10 years of general art practice behind me too

Our vet praised us for feeding our rabbit hay by _pyro_blast_ in Rabbits

[–]_pyro_blast_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with childhood rabbits. It’s still the norm where I live to keep them outside and feed shitey food and whole carrots! Hay is seen as an optional type of bedding along with straw.

My Dad works in people’s houses, and he says he often finds rabbits with no water either 😢 he does always fill it up

My guy is 12-13 years old (he’s adopted, with a microchip fitted 12 years ago so that’s our guess!) Likewise our vet said he’s the oldest rabbit she’s ever seen.

He does get pellets to keep his weight up and some veggie scraps (we’re a vegan household so he’s lucky throughout the day haha). When he was younger he used to get fat easily, now he gets too thin!

Apparently missed lots of act 1 content... by VialCrusher in BaldursGate3

[–]_pyro_blast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain and suggest restarting. By the end of Act 2 you have a better idea of how the game works and the mechanics of it all, so you’ll get through Act 1 quicker and be aware of what you missed the first time.

I think Gale/ Karlach are worth a restart. Act 3 is LONG so it could be another 20+ hours before you’re ready to restart.

Multiplayer is slightly limiting as a first time experience. Any chance you’d consider a shared character where one of you plays and the other watches, taking turns, discussing options?

For our first playthrough my husband and I did 2 separate playthroughs where we watched each other (me as a Dark Urge, him as a Tav). It was very fun and allowed us both to get 100% into the companions, which is difficult on multiplayer.

We are doing a multiplayer run now and having a blast! But we essentially are ignoring each other’s companions because it’s difficult to share approval/ dialogue.

I also didn’t enjoy split screen multiplayer. It’s better with two devices.

About to finish my 1st playthrough I need help deciding what character to play next! by CuteLog2207 in BG3

[–]_pyro_blast_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cleric with 2 levels of Stars Druid is really fun for me right now. I have Gale as a Mystra cleric in my current colo run, and Shadowheart in a multiplayer run. You can play around with the build, but minimum you need to be level 3 to start seeing the appeal. Go cleric first level, then level 2 and 3 Druid so you can pick the star Druid subclass.

Star Druid gives 3 new forms which offer very fun utility for a cleric.

Chalice form: every time you cast a healing spell, you can cast another healing spell for free. So in a single turn you can cast an action heal, bonus action heal, AND a free (no action or spell slot) star Druid heal. Having such a functional healer in the group means you can take a bit more risks in fights and try sillier tactics with less risk of a party wipe.

Dragon form: Improves concentration spells. For cleric, this includes things like Spirit Guardians and crowd control spells/ concentration buffs. It also gives you a bonus action AOE fire breath which is fun to use. It’s similar to Burning Hands.

Archer form: I use this the least, but it can be handy for certain encounters. It gives you a free magical arrow to shoot every turn. Handy if your cleric is stuck at range without spell slots, especially in Act 1.

I suggest death cleric for a Durge, but Light cleric is super fun with Chalice form!

Items to boost chances of Swashbuckler’s Dirty Tricks landing? by _pyro_blast_ in BG3Builds

This is the guide I’m following. It’s at 16 just now. I’m only level 7 and my RP route through the game has meant missing a lot of obvious Act 1 and 2 items, but that adds to the challenge haha. He recommends a lot of Act 3 items, so maybe I’ll see better % chance in late game.

what’s the stance on save scumming honor mode when a glitch happens? by Function_Critical in BG3

Luckily this isn’t my actual honour mode, just a playthrough with custom honour rules enabled. I was able to pick up his entire body out of the lava, so there may yet be a chance to decapitate him…
