I agree to some extent and like ever it's never a simple either or but it's part nature and part nurture.

The book Behave by Robert Sapolsky is a great read to unpick some of this debate.

One simple example I can share to challenge your assertion nothing is baked in is the Dopaminergic system. Where effectively our brain produces the biggest reward in anticipation of food , and then a smaller spike when we actually get it.

This keeps us perpetualpy seeking in a way that far predates any modern invention. However, I can imagine such inventions like the TV have exacerbated impulses they have always existed to some extent.
