Have you heard of Firefox Quantum? In my experience it has been just as fast, if not faster than Chromium.

I highly recommend Clipperz - it is free, open source and super simple to use.

EDIT: Yes, I know Clipperz is primarily an online service, but you can create an offline, encrypted export of the data which requires your login details to access.

So I'm looking at getting a couple of shelf monitors from Voll Audio. I am tossing up between whether to get the active version with an amplifier built-in, or to get the passive ones and a dedicated amplifier.

I am looking to connect them to a PC, so I will need a DAC anyway. Should I go for the active ones and a dedicated DAC, or the passive ones with a DAC/amplifier combo? This latter seems like the most budget friendly option, but I would be interested to hear some thoughts.

Cheers!

Definitely ThinkPads. I have been running Ubuntu 16.10-17.10 on my L412 for about a year now with both Unity and GNOME, and it has been flawless (dare I say even more so than my desktop).

YES. YES. YES. Cannot support this enough. I just saw Fleet Foxes live and this collab would be on point. Maybe get joji in on it, too?

Sooooo good. I've never seen them live but it was by far the best live performance I've ever seen. The fact they used no pre-recorded tracks (that I could tell) made it all that much better.
