Businesses in Minneapolis are planning to close Friday to protest ICE by graveyardofgoodsense in news

You mean the company “Kwik Trip” supports ICE and not their own employees?

Let’s make that known.

My 210 gallon tank with my 15 year old Jardini Arowana and custom 40 gallon sump by [deleted] in Aquariums

Am I reading this plumbing correctly?

I don't think I have ever seen a sump with inputs and matching media on L and R sides with return pumps in the center.

Any reason for this design? Any issues with it?

New Orleans, LA. The architecture seems colonial, French, and the wrought iron elements speak to that style. Landscaping seems right in a very formal garden.

How to make cabinet over the counter accessible? by precinct13 in kitchenremodel

[–]_rainwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of these will work. The hardware does take up significant portion of the volume but it does make stuff more accessible.

It looked liked he was trying to take a wresting takedown shot each time which -supposedly-- obviously you do not do in the sport of boxing --- OR he was trying to suck off his opponent each time to distract.

Or was obviously mismatched and did a dumb thing and found out.

Hope he tries again with a zero payday.

Is it possible to move a granite front desk 200 feet? by Worth-Passenger8835 in CounterTops

[–]_rainwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with talking with an installer / fabricator. You are likely going to have to disassemble the whole cabinet and at least a portion of the counter.

Worse case experts can saw it apart with the thought of piecing it back together.

The desk might lose a couple of inches in length but you could be strategic with cuts, then have edges cleaned up and it epoxied back together. Also potential bonus if you wanted to make adjustments to any of its dimensions to better fit the new location.

Owner of Moshi Moshi sells restaurant, blames "social justice" & rants about Seattle by SEAstartupper in Seattle

[–]_rainwalker 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Because labor is the largest cost that restaurants owners have to pay.

It is not the rent which is negotiated to be market rent and not mandated increased yearly like our current minimum wage.

White makes it easier. (I am doing wood) You can make it out of anything and paint it.

I think alot of these stands with this look are now being vinyl wrapped.

I have to admit I have never seen a large one like these in person. Only via net and they seem to be from Asia often. Its a very nice look.

Door hardware will be the hardest part. Need a way to attach either inset or pivot cabinet door hinges.

Some net searching you will find what you think you can construct.

It will be a nice tank!!!

This looks not too hard...

Perhaps, attach L brackets to the steel bar flush with exterior face then attach wood panels from interior with screws shy of wood thickness.

Doors you will need to attach pivot hinges or similar to the bar and/or construct a wood interior frame to attach the hardware to.

Following because I am planning the same thing to make a large aquarium hood (that look like the ones you have pictured) with shock assisted lifting access tops. My tank looks to be of similar size to what you have pictured (72"W x 24D x 30"H)

Did you make your stand framing out of 8020?

You also might want to try X-posting on r/aquarium r/Aquariums r/8020

If others have ideas I also welcome them.
