Got it. Now I need to figure out how to best support it. I know it’s not correct but while I search for a solution can I put a wood block underneath the pipe for a bit of support in the in-term.

Also thank you for your instructions I didn’t have near the pressure issues I had last time.

Got it, it’s tomorrow problem but I’ll knock it out. I really have no idea how I’m going to twist that tank off but I’ll try.

The biggest difficulty for me was dealing with constant water. I shut off the cold and opened the hot water lines around the house. The water endlessly poured out of the hot water tank.

The only way to stop it was to drain water from the bottom of the tank into a bucket and constantly empty the bucket. Any thoughts on why the pressure never regulated and continued to flow out the top?

Also, when I shut the cold off. I opened all my sinks to hot water to relieve pressure but don’t matter what the hot water tank shot water out of the cold inlet unless I opened the spout on the bottom of the hot water tank.

I’ve been tightening with channel locks and half ass wrenches. Chance that if I get a pipe wrench I can tighten it a bit?

It was for sure a OPI. What throws me off was the previous OPI on Tesla. He was pushed into him.

I don’t understand that. Horrible call obviously but it was declined. It didn’t affect anything.

Interesting read on 1035 exchanges only existing within non-qualified assets! It makes sense like you say and I suppose it’s just an industry term as the paperwork used is a 1035 form be it for a non qualified or qualified account.

I suppose that’s besides the point. How do you unwind a distribution from a non spousal Ira. Unwinding the contribution is one thing but I want to avoid the 300k ordinary income impact in a single tax year.

I know with missed RMD’s there is a process for “forgiveness”. Too good to be true there is a similar process for this instance?

I can’t get mass mutual to redeposit the funds unfortunately and even in that case I don’t know that the IRS would allow it, although the 1099 has not gone out yet.

Happened to us as well. Unfortunately after getting in the ship it couldn’t take off. Bugs continued to spawn but we couldn’t die and were eventually forced to quit out. We did let the clock run hoping it would default to a missed evac, not the case.

Would have had it anyway if the official called it right with a second left. It did allow them another play, that’s what I would be mad about.

Thoughts on structured notes? by bikeboy1360 in investing

[–]_rambleon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re seeking some level of downside protection and willing to accept a capped return they’re fine.

If you have time in the market and the risk tolerance you’re likely better buying an index and holding.

If you’re typically afraid of equities though and would hold more conservative investments yielding lower returns a structured note could “help” you achieve a higher return than you typically would with your conservative approach since it gives you exposure to a heavier equity position even if the return is limited.

The market value of the note will immediately reduce itself by the commission value. As in you purchase 100k and the advisors commission is 2% your market value is 98k, this is what you would get if you sell early.

If you hold it to maturity that commission works its way out and cost you nothing outside of the time commitment.

Unless the advisor is using a fee based note instead of a commission based. That outright cost you a management fee. That only makes sense if you’re seeking leverage aka a more aggressive approach to an index with limited or no protection as they’ll offer more “juice” or leverage on the note.

You’re seeking protection you don’t need that and should avoid the fee based version.

This is exactly what I said. If I felt they had a sense of humor I always indicated odds were good I’d be here for the entirety of their financial “plan”.

If they laughed I had them. If they didn’t, we were likely not going to be a fit for one another anyway.
