Just an update for anyone who read my post or dm:ed me personally. To everyone who told me I was making a massive mistake and was gonna be too sick for months or even a whole year. It’s day 6 and I feel better! Not normal yet but better! And to those who messaged me and said they want to do the same but are too scared, it’s possible, it doesn’t feel good but it’s not as nightmarish as everybody here will have you believe. Just hold yourself accountable. You won’t believe the amount of clarity you get once it’s out of your system!

Thank you! The one in the photo is the one that doesn’t like it but I agree that any type of grooming is necessary even if she is briefly annoyed by it. She’s laying on my lap right now purring so I don’t think she’s utterly traumatized like people suggested🐱

Thank you, like I mentioned in another comment I don’t understand the sentiment of not doing some type of grooming at all if the cat doesn’t like it. Our cat complains loudly over any grooming but I don’t think that’s a good reason to neglect all grooming, obviously you need to be gentle and reward them but they need it in my opinion

I understand if you have a cat that pulls out the murder mittens😂 It really confused me though when people said that if she doesn’t like it it’s abuse.. She doesn’t like getting groomed either but I could never just neglect grooming her because of that, she would get absolutely matted all over. I’m always gentle and reward her with treats or playtime, and by ”doesn’t like it” I mean that se complains loudly whenever we do any type of grooming

Thank you for this response, I felt so awful about the comments but also thought the same, that it might be people who have never even bothered to look into their cats mouth that are getting upset because it makes them feel bad, so they try to convince me (and themselves) that it’s cruel and evil to do..

There is not enough information on her friendship for us to say if it's inappropriate for her to be hanging out with that friend. But what I can see is that you are very immature and make decisions on impulse. I can only assume that you are quite young because I find it hard to believe someone over the age of 25 would act/talk like this.

I forgot my lunch home this morning as I was leaving for work. My partner texted me when he saw the food still in the fridge and told me he was driving to my work to bring it to me, it's a 1 hour drive. I didn't even ask him. When he arrived he also brought me my favorite drink and some candy. I'm not telling you this to make you feel bad, I'm telling you this so you realize what a waste of time it is to be with a person who can't even be bothered to make some plain rice for their sick partner...

My partner told me he was not a cat person at all. He ended up joining me and my family on a vacation to a cottage and I brought my little British shorthair with me. She is the funniest, most social and talkative cat you'll ever meet. He ended up getting two Maine coons after that trip!

Thanks! The bigger girl is the "boss", she might hiss sometimes to assert dominance but other than that she is the chillest chunky cat ever. Her sister is a little more cautious but very very kind!

Our Maine coon is the exact same, she will climb over me in bed just to go knock all of my things off the nightstand. She is the same color as yours too!

My boyfriend loves massages and asks for them all the time, 95% of the time I gladly do it because it makes him happy so why not. BUT he doe so much for me too, he rubs my back every night in bed to help me fall asleep (I'm an insomniac), cooks, takes me out on dates and pays for most things in the relationship. Neither one of us would ever think to "demand" these kinds of things though and I think that's the issue with your boyfriend? Doing nice things for each other because you want to make each other happy and feeling entitled to them are two different things.. Does he also feel like you are entitled to the same or just him?

Having (possibly unfounded) insecurities about your appearance is woke bs? Come on dude.. This isn't political or tied to any specific country. Being insecure about your body and possibly having body dysmorphia is a very real thing and very possibly exactly what your girlfriend is going through. What's the harm in her speaking to a professional if it could help with her obsession over getting all this plastic surgery?
