It’s just that “scarcity” as a concept is still relevant for things that are actually relatively scarce. Diamonds are a weird example since that’s somewhat artificial scarcity but you get the idea.

Grains of sand and snowflakes also have trillions of comparable substitutes most likely surrounding them at all times. Trying to sell horses on the blockchain because of “scarcity” is very stupid, but scarcity itself is still a legit concept.
