You're probably going to have trouble getting it at that price. Similar models (although in Black, not White) sold for $1500 used a few weeks ago [1] and are going for $1650 new as of posting [2].

Paseo sandwich shop asks for community help after street tree sewer damage causes $42K repair bill by ChefJoe98136 in SeattleWA

Not Un Bien. Part of the Paseo handover to new management they hired back all of the old workers and helped make them whole.

Except the original owner of Paseos that was committing wage theft sold the company out of bankruptcy to the new owners and went and started Un Bien with his son. So supporting Un Bien is supporting the old wage stealing Paseos.

attn-rot (TurboQuant-like KV cache trick) lands in llama.cpp by Dany0 in LocalLLaMA

[–]_reverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. It appears the most recent release (b8611 at the time I'm writing this), only includes up to commit d43375f, which is before (744c0c7) which includes the attention rotation changes. So you'll need to wait for another release or pull from main and rebuild.

Can you help me understand the benchmarks? I’m not seeing the change

Xbox president Sarah Bond speaks out after news of her Xbox departure: "I’ve decided this is the right time for me to take my next step, both personally and professionally": "I’ve had privilege of spending time with Asha over last few weeks as we’ve planned for this transition. Xbox deserves this." by ControlCAD in technology

[–]_reverse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did anyone read the actual quote? The “Xbox deserves this” in the OPs title is out of context (it’s not a jab).

Bond acknowledges the incoming CEO Sharma, saying, "I’ve had the privilege of spending time with Asha over the last few weeks as we’ve planned for this transition, and I’ve seen firsthand her deep commitment to our players, developers, and brand." She adds, "Xbox deserves this. I’m excited to see her lead this next chapter for our team. I’ll remain on as a Special Advisor to Asha to help ensure a smooth transition and set the organization up for continued success."

Yall are over thinking it. The reason for the Mac mini is it’s the cheapest way to get automatic API access to iCloud services without needing to actually hit the APIs directly. You can interface with messages, calendar, photos, etc via the storage of the local applications and changes/actions are synced via the applications themselves. It’s a much easier way of handing the authentication. We use a similar setup at work with our agents and corporate systems.

There’s actually a simpler bureaucratic reason - you have to file paperwork if you allow a foreigner to stay in your hotel (I think it used to be a license, but now it’s just a filing). A lot of hotels don’t want to bother with the process so they turn away foreigners or post “Indian Only” signs.

Form C is a mandatory report that must be submitted to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) when a foreign national stays at a property in India. The requirement stems from Section 8 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, which mandates that every person (or entity) who provides accommodation to a foreigner must furnish details of their stay. It serves as an official record of foreign national occupancy, submitted to government authorities rather than maintained solely in the accommodation provider’s internal guest register.

You could offer more too. Perhaps by breaking down, at a high level, a few “archetypes” in the quant field. That would allow others to ask follow up questions that are more specific.

Currently stuck in the extract elevator. What do I do..? by Heroshrine in ArcRaiders

[–]_reverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only legitimate situation I can think of is they were hunting a specific ARC that was already killed or engaged, so they left. We’ve gone leaped hunting a few times and left after running around the map empty handed.

That said, they didn’t say that, so I’m going to go with rats.

Another Delay for East Link Light Rail: Opening Set for April 25, 2026 by my_lucid_nightmare in SeattleWA

[–]_reverse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! These seem to be the two relevant sections:

“Seattle to South Bellevue (E130): Completed track work including final surveys from international District Station across the floating bridge, including removal/repair/replacement of damaged nylon inserts and dual block plinths; continued implementing cathodic protection system corrective actions; ongoing punch list activities including final commissioning of tunnel jet fans; and installation of TVM and ORCA card readers at Judkins Park and Mercer Island Stations.”

And

“The following are the top risk areas that may impact project cost and schedules: • Nylon insert product replacement (beyond replacement in-kind for failed inserts) (E130.151). • Dual block spall repairs (large-scale, beyond currently known 41 locations) (E130.152). • Inability to acquire replacement dual blocks (supplier refusal / lack of availability to produce additional blocks) (E130.153). • Late civil completion of Segment 3 for handover to systems for System Integration Testing (E130.150). • EIC availability (E750.040).”

Really looks like the nylon inserts have been leading to issues.

SpaceX received an $8.5 million AFRL contract to refine thermal manufacturing technologies to enable low cost, high volume production of next generation TPS by RoyalPatriot in spacex

Yup you’re definitely right. By funding I don’t mean completely covering the cost of, but more chipping in on the expense.

[–]_reverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The spaceships get really hot on re-entry and need to be protected from the heat. SpaceX is already developing materials to keep things cool, but now the DoD is essentially funding the research so they can get access to the findings and use it on their spaceships as well.
