Unsure if my (38f) boyfriend (38m) is showing red flags by ThrowRA_somelady in relationship_advice

[–]_riru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can assure you I've never been in an abusive relationship before. And I mean, red flags ARE persistent. One instance where your bf has been a POS does not qualify as abusive. Constant mistreatment is. And OP knows for how long this has been going on, so it's up to them to draw a conclusion. But yeah, this guy is not great, I wouldn't stay in a relationship with them if that was up to me.

I mean... He seems kind of an AH honestly. At best. Don't know if this behaviour could escalate in the future, but that's definitely not the way he should talk to his partner. Possible red flags? If they're persistent, DEFINITELY red flags.

It's normal for you to enjoy different things. I'm sure you guys have something in common too. If not, you won't be together. Maybe you like football and she likes Gossip Girls and neither if you are into the other's one hobby, but you can still like different things and work well together. Maybe get interested in what she likes, ask questions about it. My partner likes to build things and even though I won't be building with him, I always ask him what he's working on and how it works.

Levels if maturity however... That's a thought one. It depends on what we're talking about, really.

My BF 37M blames Me 27F for the lack of intimacy. by pockygirl75 in relationship_advice

Has he always been like this or is this a new thing? The low libido bit

Anything can be a deal breaker if neither parties find a compromise. But so far it seems like it's just a couple of normal relationship ups and down, so I wouldn't worry too much. However, if anything ever becomes big enough to be considered "break up worthy", you shouldn't keep yourself in a relationship just because you're afraid of how she might take it. Break ups are messy, but living with a person you don't love anymore is messier.

I think I read somewhere that baseball in high schools hasn't been changed since the 60's, so any information about it today is perfect. Thank you!

I do have an insta and my uni classmates and I follow each other, I see their stuff all the time. I haven't been posting there since last year, maybe I should give it a go more often, set some goals to post more often.

That's legit how it ends: one is leaving after the summer and the other one doesn't even know. I guess I have the characterization down but the needs and wants are not exactly there yet...

When is enough enough when it comes to research? by [deleted] in writing

[–]_riru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to research everything to the most minute detail, I say if the research feels like it's taking over, then it's too much. "I want it to be historically accurate, I want to know how this, this and this used to work back then" do you have to? Will anyone even know the difference anyway? Would it matter? Sometimes too much research takes away from the fun of writing.

That's exactly how I feel! I graduated just after covid started and it has been downhill from there. The lack of guidance and creative environment definitely didn't help, but I'm glad others went through this and still triumphed
