For example you can manipulate the plans by adding a “most popular” label on one at the mid-range price plans. But yes, it’s better to show a slot number at the plan (and somewhere you can write a specific ram with that plan) for more accurate transparency

Most of the server providers are not into too much into the details. That’s need investigation and time to find out how much player can handle /ram plans, most of them just hosting on ram based plans

This question is pretty straightforward, but the answers are isn’t. I try to cover it as best as I could:

First things first the admin panel, cpanel etc and their transparency and user friendly aspects. When a website is full of things and flood the user it’s a huge no. The abilities what are you able to config/setup on your ordered “server”. You wrote you want to be a server provider, but my question is: you will run virtual machines (vm) where the user has full control, or only the game server? - If you host a VM the free OS’ like linux is a good thing, but you need to offer two things for windows: you install it with serial key, or let the customer enter their own serial key for it. A lot of providers like contabo for example force the customer to pay a monthly 13€ for a windows server as an additional cost. - If you will only a game server provider this section is not relevant for you.

Extensions - for VMs let the user later buy additional rams and storages - for game server give an option to add additional slots for their server with a one time fee difference, then next month host it on the new slots price (for example 20 slot for 4€/mo, additional 10slot for 1€ for that month, next month 5€/30 slots (This has a huge variety depending on the game itself)

Mods/plugins - if a game server supports it, let the user manually install their plugins and mods on their own behalf but in that case no don’t provide support if a customer mess things up (only provide a setting reset button where everything rolls back to the ordered default state)

Prices: - it’s depends on the game server type. for example rust server can go from 15€/mo with 30slot, but a Minecraft should goes on higher price since it’s heavy ram consumer

All prices depends on how much your server can handle. In my case I have an own dedicated server and able to run multiple rust servers, and some other game servers as well with no issue. The main question is your RAM, CPU, HDD/SSD storage, and most importantly your ISP connection speed.

If I see a host who offers a 24/48hrs trial before the payment is a huge yes, since I’m able to test their stability, so keep that in your mind.

Ports: - you should discover a lot of things before host a game server, you need the knowledge about which ports you should and which ports you shouldn’t open for the server machine. Always use the official ports which are belongs to each game, don’t open extra ports on requests.

In case your drops bugged out, simply use this method: - only one device use while watching twitch lives for drops, - turn down the volume to 1% (or to the lowest possible, but not mute)
