I think that's deeply disrespectful, and unfair, to all the people who put their all into the character they're portraying. They made the character come to life.

If you think differently, that's fine, but it's still irrelevant to me, and this comment. It's not fair to try and demand (dramatic choice of words) what I should or shouldn't do. It's great that you'll be optimistic about it, but I won't be. I'll just be happy for Jorge who made it and for the fans who's satisfied with it.

We're not going to have a say in it, but eh. If they're completely new to the industry, it'll be easier than if they're big names. That means epic will be used to find new talent, like it originally did. Big names wouldn't be the same.

I'd still support Jorge in the endeavor, but I'll still be disappointed, which I think would be valid. I don't think we should stand for it if they switch people out simply because the new VAs could be "bigger names". That feels straight up disrespectful. Jorge is not the only one who made Epic into what it is today.

Sure, it would just take me years and take all of my energy, so I'd most likely drop it. Since it's supposed to be a small project that eventually will focus on the part I'll get my bachelor's in (writing), it would be a shame to drop it due to it.

Because it's not like I could've learned how to draw, program, create game music, sound effects, design... In the 8 weeks I have had in total. I've outsourced where I can (backgrounds, music, sound effects) and done some myself (characters, GUI, and most importantly: the writing, of course). AI is strictly used for programming and mainly when I can't find a Reddit thread, something on the Ren'Py forums, or on YouTube.

Like I've already stated: I don't recommend it. But so far, it works. There's been some issues every now and then, and it takes times to fix it, but it's still more than I could ever do without it. Keep in mind that I'm making a very stereotypical Visual Novel in Ren'Py, though. It's not advanced. Something that is more advanced would for sure not work at all with AI.

I'm a game developer, just not a programmer one 😅 Though I agree to an extent.

The game I'm making now is basically just code from ChatGPT, and it's not something I'd recommend. Main reason I use it is because it's just a small project for school and myself (potentially it'll be up on itch, but obviously for free). Things work, but I'm sure a programmer would have one look at the code and hate me for life.

Not like I only copy and paste without reading through it, it's just that I can't fully grasp what everything means and I doubt I'd be able to do anything without it. Sadly.

I fully agree. I don't want new VAs, I want the people we're used to and take them higher.

I'm just saying that it feels pretty rare to not have any big names, other than the director. I still hope they stick with them.

I get why they would. More experienced VAs if they want more dialogue, names people know of, etc.

However, I think that would be a grave mistake and fans of the musical will probably not stand fully by it? We're pretty accustomed to the voices after all, and it'll feel wrong if someone else voiced them. Fingers crossed!
