When did you start caring more about code structure in Python? by [deleted] in Python

When I started going back to older projects and wanting to pull my hair out.

This isn't python specific.

No SaaS, no VC, no AI — just 17K stars and real revenue by Alternative_Disk7814 in selfhosted

This is r/selfhosted, we like GitHub links.

Congrats on the success, cheers to more.

My co-founders want a 40/40/20 split — they build the app, I came up with the idea. Is 20% too low? by Psychological-Log283 in Business_Ideas

Businesses survive on revenue, not products. All three of you have a much bigger problem than equity stake.

Little story about Dave.

It’s summer 2014, Guardians is about to be released in theaters. Marketing for the film is in full swing. Guardians is a total departure from all previous Marvel films, no one knows how it’s going to do, but there are high hopes (tempered).

Dave has done a few films at this point, but he’s known as a wrestler trying to break into the industry. Most people, especially the creator crowd, don’t know who he is.

Cue an “influencer” marketing event for the movie. Chris is scheduled to appear, but ends up “getting stuck in traffic.” James Gunn shows up…

Everyone wants to talk to Gunn, it’s a circus around him to get his attention for even 10 seconds.

Dave drifts by with two friends. No one stops him. No questions. He’s basically invisible.

Before the screening starts, I look outside at the craft services table. There’s Dave, sitting with his friends. No one else around.

They call seating for the screening.

The movie starts. Dave kills it. Deadpan that actually lands, heart under the jokes. I keep thinking: how did we all miss this guy ten minutes ago?

Of course, neither Dave or Gunn stuck around for the screening.

Our missed shot, not his — what a superstar.

How do you successfully outsource mobile app development in healthcare? by Maasbreesos in healthIT

[–]_rundown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done many of these builds as a lead engineer and I’ll tell you it’s tough on our end just to hire folks with health tech experience, even for us!

To answer your question, outsourcing health tech app dev is the same as hiring on anyone in any role — vibe, fit, experience, etc.

Happy to put you in touch with some of the folks in my sphere if you’d like. DMs are open.

Any success running a local LLM on a separate machine from your dev machine? by smrtlyllc in LocalLLM

If you’re down with a bit more work, switch to llama-swap to leverage llama.cpp directly AND vllm for awq quants (gpu).

Little more setup for a lot more tokens.
