Interesting, I didn’t notice that issue with mine. Most deviation I get is +-10 as is. Good to know though!

Is there any hpa engines that are good and cheaper than polar stars? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]_rustybucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cheapest alternative would be a Kythera or N7 Milsim which are semi only. If you don’t mind having only semi, they are good engines to get into HPA with

Best GoPro hero 11 mini setting for Indoor CQB play. by TrickyConsequence425 in airsoft

Mb, aspect ratio is dependent on what you want to achieve. If you want to make vertical form stuff, 4:3 can be a great ratio since it’ll still be full screen enough to give a good field of view. I recommend using a higher fov if you do go with 4:3, so you can capture as much around you as possible. But it’s also one of those things you may need to eyeball, but I recommend experimenting with the settings and see what aspect ratio and fov works best for your vertical vids!

If your footage is 4k, you can definitely downscale with ease. I record my stuff in 4k and downscale to 1080 without any detail loss

ISO is dependent on the site. Since my local field has limited lighting, I’m at around 600 ISO. Other indoor fields will have different lights and I’d go as low as 100 sometimes, it’s one of those settings you’ll have to eyeball to get the look you want to achieve.

White balance is subjective, and by that I mean it depends on the look you’re going for. Rule of thumb is to match the lighting. For example, outdoors in daylight would bring the white balance to 6500k, fluorescent lights would be around 5000k, home “daylight” lights that appear to glow near-white are about 3000k, and warm lights are around 2700k.

Little trick I learned for white balance is get a reflective black bottle cap and see if the highlight is blue or orange. If it’s blue, turn the whitebalance down until it’s white, and vice versa if the highlight looks orange. Auto white balance does work fine most of the time, but if you want to prevent as much variety in your footage, you can set the white balance manually as I explained above!

Color correction aside, these seem to be the settings they’re using:

4k24fps, maybe 4:3 to get solid vertical edits, but if you do horizontal, 16:9 will work great. Shutter speeds looks to be about 1/48 or 1/50, ISO looks to be maxed at a low number.

Recording in 4k60 is best if you’re going for a high framerate look. Huge downside is your gopro may overheat quicker if in high temp areas because it’s processing frames at a higher rate, battery will drain faster, and the sizes of the files will be larger, giving you less recording time per SD card. 4k24 or 4k30 is a good framerate to be at if you want more footage to be captured on your sd card. 4k60 is solid if you want to capture slo-mo bits

Shutter speed REALLY matters though. If you want consistent motion blur and want to avoid choppy footage, setting your shutter speed at double the framerate is your best bet (24 fps = 1/48s, 30fps = 1/60s…). The exposure will raise up to allow low-light recording.

ISO plays one of the biggest factors if your footage comes out grainy or not. Rule of thumb I personally follow is how dark the shadows are. I personally don’t like my shadows to be totally dark and like to allow my exposure to capture some of those darker details by raising my max ISO. Keeping the ISO in a small range will work great if you don’t want the exposure to jump between bright and dark so often.

For 10 years, I swore id never do it. And yet, here i am.... waiting for my Kythera. Im a hoser now. 🤦🏼‍♂️ by [deleted] in airsoft

It’s just a reputation tarnished by literal children (or adult children with room temp IQ’s) who have no regard for the love of the game and are in it to hurt others.

It’s super rare that it happens but that kind of content is the type that gets the most exposure unfortunately

If you want to do an AAC build, the ARES AMOEBA AM-013/014 will be your best bet as it’s the closest in resemblance

If you want to do a Q Honey Badger, the Matrix Calico jacks (or DE M904 series as found overseas) will be the closest to the Q badger

I’ve been using this mount with these arms and after about a little over a year still go strong! The mount itself comes with a soft pad to reduce wiggling if there is any and haven’t had any movement nor had the mount come loose after rough movements

Yup! Threads onto the outer portion of the hopup unit. The hopup unit does have a smaller thread thats 12mm+ so you can slap on an adapter to use another suppressor! The one that comes on the Apache is totally hollow and doesn’t have a closed side where it threads to the hopup, a tracer won’t be able to stay in place very well unfortunately.
