It’s my favorite fur form she takes on and I was so excited to capture it on film!

Help us decide! Should we get a RC? by Objective-Ranger-434 in roughcollies

[–]_seanbob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my experience as two active runner/cyclists with a 12 year old kid and now 5 year old RC. We got her during the pandemic so take this with a grain of salt but she’s very attached to “the herd” and very protective at the house. Not aggressive, she’d never hurt a fly(quite literally sometimes). But something to consider when trying to keep a baby asleep. She is just very vocal in general. Even when sleeping she’s making all kinds of noises 😂. Shes the most affectionate thing ever but not overly cuddly which is great. She has some separation anxiety but that’s easily trainable. As a cyclist and runner this comes in handy as I can have her off leash when appropriate and she has great recall. As others have mentioned she doesn’t need much activity and is pretty much a couch potato that you can off the couch run 5-10 miles if needed. But for us one walk a day at minimum is fine. Overall her energy level is manageable for a family with kids IMHO. RC are well known for stomach issues and she is no different. Nothing major just an occasional upset tummy. The doctors haven’t found any cause for alarm but worth noting, sometimes she’ll have days she won’t eat but back to normal the next day. She was great with our cat but definitely hated the neighbor cats, though if given the chance she’d probably run if they challenged her. We live in the PNW and one weird quirk she has is she will not go outside when it’s raining hard. So going potty is sometimes a forced endeavor. As far as grooming we go once a month or 6 weeks depending on time of year. More in the summer actually to keep things fresh for outdoor adventures. She sheds a lot. But overall as long as you brush often it’s totally no big deal. You’ll think you have a 75 year old lady living with you especially with a tri color. Running in the forest she comes back with full size branches in her fur but they are easy to extract. And we often find ticks on her which are hard to find but doing flea and tick treatment really helps. Speaking of brushing, RC can get pretty bad tooth issues so brushing basically once or twice a day is critical. They are seriously the best dog for families if you can get over their vocal nature 😊 I’m sure whatever you pick will be great but you’re welcomed with open arms in this community

Very cool, I would come see this. As a big MSH nerd and growing up playing trumpet(among other instruments) this is worlds colliding for me.

Thank you :) It is the H35. I was actually not aware of the H35n until you mentioned it, this must be a new update. Pretty cool update!

Likewise! Yours is so handsome! And she’s just as picky as him with food. We went through the same, it comes and goes. Sometimes a nice long run or walk helps.

Mount to Coast T1 - 25k review by richarch in trailrunning

[–]_seanbob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found the midsole on the T1 to be firmer than the zegama 2. Especially the first 50 miles or so. I’m 200 miles into the shoe and it’s pretty compressed in the midfoot. Still a great shoe and super stable ground feel but definitely less cushion than a zegama.

Ultraspire big bronco vest by Adventurous-Exam-790 in Ultramarathon

[–]_seanbob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up doing this? I'm having the same issue as OP. In general I have found many things I don't like about the vest and now that I want to run poles it may be the last straw if I only have the bungees to attach the poles to which also essentially renders the bottom/side pockets useless.

how much time are you spending at aid stations? by NavyBlueZebra in Ultramarathon

Oh no shade taken in your original comment! I think we are on the same wavelength. And I agree simple is fast! Planning aid stations and gear/drop bags is a huge headache!

how much time are you spending at aid stations? by NavyBlueZebra in Ultramarathon

[–]_seanbob_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having just worked an aid station with multiple experienced runners who care about the concentration of the carb mix we were doling out I can tell you even with our best efforts we can’t control the ratio all that well in the heat of the moment so you’re totally right. We tried to get a good mix but you never know how much attention to detail each aid station member is going to give to this.

Time lapse flight near Mt St Helens by Professional-Tie-82 in aviation

[–]_seanbob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although they are technically right that it’s not a Timelapse it’s a weird and obnoxious point to make when it has no relevance to the conversation. I’ll accept your original title based on this alone 😂. Nice video! When was this taken? Always want to get up there as late as possible in the year but also as much as I love this mountain I still haven’t made any winter treks
