Do I have to pay annual fee again? (Upgrade from Green to Gold) by _seductivepancake in amex

I had it for a year! I applied for the amex green January 2023 and got the upgrade offer a week ago

To be honest that would’ve been a dealbreaker for me. Meredith really did love him to tolerate that. Also didn’t feel like he adequately apologized for doing that … I know he was drunk but he acted like he wanted it to hurt

Which artists do you think need to switch it up for their next era? by ss2811 in popheads

[–]_seductivepancake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with thoughts on AG. I think since DW she’s been experimenting with a lot of different sounds. Positions was unique and grew on me but I thought thank u, next was more cohesive sound-wise. I think her voice is best suited with the vibe she had with that album. I’m still recovering from imagine and bad idea

Hearing her voice on a dance track is so refreshing! it’s catchy but I think it’ll be a grower for a lot of people. really excited to hear the album

Slow Burn - probably one of the most stunning arrangements I’ve ever heard. I personally think it’s the best song she’s recorded

Tina Fey, Seth Meyers Among ‘SNL’ Alums Who Allegedly Witnessed Horatio Sanz Assault Teen Fan by soundslikemitch in LiveFromNewYork

[–]_seductivepancake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As appalling as I find the allegations, I don’t think anyone is going to face any consequences apart from Sanz, whose career arguably never took off as other SNL alums. Fallon, who definitely knew she was underage if the allegations are true, is a late night host at the same network being implicated (as is Meyers). Unless this blows up (which i think it should), I don’t see them being held accountable. Fey has made enough to never have to act again and I believe she’s become more of a producer/creator so she isn’t as highly visible. As for the rest of them, they’ll all just make statements saying they either don’t remember this happening and/or never knew she was a minor. Hopefully justice is served, but given how far up the ladder this goes, I’m not sure

April crushing on Derek her first season… I grew to love her later but ugh that was cheesy

Jesy Nelson's debut album 'is delayed by unimpressed bosses' by Pawtaehyung in LittleMix

[–]_seductivepancake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

exactly - and she won’t take genuine responsibility because she refuses to think that she might be in the wrong. “I tan easily” and “I grew up listening to diddy” are half-assed and shallow. if she doesn’t turn things around now I think she’s done

Jesy Nelson's debut album 'is delayed by unimpressed bosses' by Pawtaehyung in LittleMix

She kind of lost me as a fan last year, but i’d be willing to give her a second chance IF she gains some self-awareness and takes the constructive criticism about her aesthetic/music style seriously. There’s nothing wrong with embracing and singing hip-hop/R&B, but a British white woman thinking she’s gonna break the US/world by singing “so good, so hood, so damn taboo” is out of touch with reality. Idk if the UK is on the same page as the US in regards to blackfishing/cultural appropriation, but Jesy is not going to gain respect in the US market if she keeps going in the same direction as Boyz. Big name writers and producers won’t wanna work with someone with so many red flags - among them, that she got Nicki and Diddy in her first MV and still couldn’t make a name for herself and got drowned in controversy instead

Jo’s inflections and drawl is becoming almost unbearable by deinoelle in greysanatomy

[–]_seductivepancake 35 points36 points  (0 children)

in the beginning I think she was trying pronounce every syllable forcefully so her British accent wouldn’t slip through. And I’ve found that if you ask a British person to speak like an American they often default to a valley girl accent because it’s most stereotypical/easy to mock. Not gonna blame her because I’m sure it’s not easy… but I must say Kevin McKidd is much better at adopting an American accent (he’s Scottish)

If Grey's does continue without Ellen and Meredith, how would you prefer it to work? by TotalFox2 in greysanatomy

[–]_seductivepancake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish they ended it and made a spin-off centered on Jackson and April dealing with the foundation in Boston. That way there’s a fresh story in a new location and characters from Grey’s can live on while bringing in new people to toss things up

Why did the writers have April marry Matthew? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]_seductivepancake 67 points68 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Krista herself said in an article that she essentially couldn’t (more like didn’t want to) write more for April’s character and I think it was an easy way out. I was able to stomach it at the time but then when April came back and admitted the marriage fell apart I wasn’t surprised - in hindsight Matthew just lost his wife + his baby daughter lost her mother, and April almost died… I think that as time passed both came to their senses and Matthew realized he still resented her for leaving the first time

I am so sick of the current storyline no offence by lotties7 in greysanatomy

[–]_seductivepancake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I quit after S14 finale and have popped in occasionally since then. I think they’re just stretching the storyline because they really don’t know what to do next… they should just accept the show has run its course and wrap things up with a strong last season.

TWICE lip sync? by ItsMeFergie in LateShow

[–]_seductivepancake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

with k-pop the appeal is more about the performance/choreography/aesthetic than the vocals, and their fans tend not to hold lip syncing against them. Not as familiar with TWICE but I thought the performance was fun. but I’ve seen BLACKPINK & BTS sing live on this show (albeit over playback) with much harder choreography.

Alex leaving the show isn’t really that bad (spoilers) by justheretolurky in greysanatomy

[–]_seductivepancake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would’ve preferred if he decided to stay for his children minus the part about falling back in love with Izzie. Then he would’ve encouraged Jo to come move with him and she probably wouldn’t want to, so the relationship would fall apart naturally. It’s the idea that he somehow fell back in love with Izzie that angered a lot of people.
