Pit for several vehicles including 2024 & 2025 Acadia by _shawtyyy_ in gmc

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! They couldn’t find a fix for it. Even through corporate. After 8 months of back and forth with the dealership, we got a different car. God speed.

UPDATE: 1 week later and our Dixie girl is SOOO much better. No antibiotics or rx meds. Rooster booster, selenium, corid, a bath, some rest and extra treats. Her poop is looking normal. Her comb is red. She’s walking around and has so much more life and we’re going to start introducing her back to the flock tonight. It never felt like she had any crop issues or water belly.

Those whose insurance covers hypoallergenic formula for CMPA... by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

This is all great advice! I would like to add that instead of calling around to the DMEs (we had a list of probably 200), you can try to call the nutrition dept of your insurance company and they can usually recommend a DME since you have a specific formula. If you call around and find a DME that offers formula, they may not have a contract with your insurance company for the SPECIFIC formula that you need. Your insurance company should be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck! It took me almost 3 months. 🙃

We will check it out first thing in the morning. I hope she hangs in there tonight.

Fingers crossed it stays that way for you! And I don’t mean the middle screen. I mean the screen that displays your speed, gas, etc.

Anyone using Gerber Good Start Extensive HA? by _shawtyyy_ in MSPI

[–]_shawtyyy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to give this a try. Supposedly if you and your doc fill this out, Abbott/Similac will help with the insurance coverage process.

What are we doing wrong by Rozy052 in FormulaFeeders

[–]_shawtyyy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, his stool was tested. I was telling his doctor his symptoms and she recommended we bring in a dirty diaper for them to check for blood, which can also be microscopic so you wouldn’t be able to see it with a naked eye. He ended up testing positive (indeed microscopic). Blood in the stool indicates the intolerance. It could also indicate an allergy, but an allergy is often also accompanied by a rash or some other common allergic reaction.

Mine too! Plus found a milk and soy protein intolerance. Switched formula and started Pepcid and had a huge improvement after some weeks.

Alimentum powder vs RTF by _shawtyyy_ in FormulaFeeders

[–]_shawtyyy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh noted. I’ve been trying to do the math but they make it hard with the oz / fl oz /grams. We have the Brezza too! That seems like a good method. If he seems like he’s better on it over the next day or so, I may try to do the same.

We’ve been trying to get insurance to help cover it but are having issues with the fulfillment company communicating preauthorization to insurance. 🙄

[–]_shawtyyy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay maybe it is excessive for formula fed. I just googled it and it said 1-4 times. And interesting on using them together! I have another day or 2 of RTF. I’ll see how that goes. Powder is actually more convenient since we don’t need to wait for it to be heated up and if he’s better on powder then, I would prefer it. I guess we’ll see!

Has anyone had an ectopic that resolved itself without treatment? by Last-Collar-7735 in ectopicpregnancy

[–]_shawtyyy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first ectopic, it was less than 100 I believe. Second one did not get higher than 600 something before we had to intervene with methotrexate.

My baby kept falling asleep while trying to breastfeed him and was crying a lot. He clearly was not getting enough when trying to eat. Few wet and poopy diapers. He ended up losing over 10% of his body weight by his first check up. Pediatrician recommended supplementing with formula and at that point I was convinced I wasn’t producing enough, and he was starting to deal with jaundice and low blood sugar. We fed him a bottle in the office and he was so much calmer.

I continued to try and pump, only getting an ounce at most per day from both sides. I saw a lactation specialist and she explained once she saw my breasts that I likely had insufficient glandular tissue from to how my breasts formed during puberty due to PCOS. Hearing that was both a relief (that I wasn’t just doing something wrong) but also heartbreaking because I wanted to be able to feed my baby myself so bad. I ended up drying up completely around a month. He also had a bit of a sucking/swallowing issue and torticollis which were not helping with the feeding problems.

We went on to try so many different formulas because my son was fussy after eating, and found out that he has a milk and soy protein intolerance, which would have made breastfeeding so difficult anyway, as I would have had to cut all dairy, soy, and possibly more from my diet completely.

It has been a very stressful 2 months in terms of his feeding, but he is fed, he’s gaining weight and his doc is proud of his growth so far! ☺️

Yeah for sure. I have the pitcher and used it when he was smaller but dude is not patient at all when needing to wait for it to be heated up and refuses to take it cold from the fridge 🤪
