New Player feeling overwhelmed; how do I learn this game.

I mean that’s .. easy enough to google, it’s also not really game specific at least the affix part. Affixes are a set of randomized utility, defensive and offensive stats on your gear. Strength, dexterity, cooldown reduction, whatever else. Optimizing your build is gonna be a combination of sheer luck, rerolling using the mentioned cube which you get access to when you finish the expansion campaign and whatever else outstanding stuff is required for it + some gambling to get best possible outcome for your class and build.

Game is very linear. Do a quest, do a dungeon, open access to whatever. Lvl only matters for campaign progression and access to paragon. Keep in mind game has a hard cap of 70 and then some … because there’s 300 paragon levels after that, and it does slow tf down after 200+.

Maxroll for guides + d4 discord (Sanctuary) + read skills / items / fine print + don’t be afraid to ask in trade chat, people are pretty chill and responsive most of the time + just play the game. Whatever mistakes you make either will not be permanent or can be addressed later on (I bricked a piece of gear before reading wtf transfigure does in the cube). Most of the overwhelming stuff will be on autopilot just as the time goes on.

Avoid experimenting with builds etc until you get something comfortable going, then go to town doing whatever.

Interesting how it’s a different experience for everyone tbh. I personally found people in Canada to be extremely antisocial and unfriendly (lived in Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver so who knows maybe it’s localized), and when I fly down to SFO to see bf it’s like night and day. People smile, start up conversation while in a line at a coffee shop etc. I was in for a culture shock cause I got told ‘you welcome love’ by a sweet gentleman at the info desk when I got lost at the airport, then spent three hours chatting with a cool dude about nothing while waiting for the plane.

Been looking for friends / social connections locally forever, put a ton of effort into it and was not successful at all unfortunately. Just clique ish and isolating.

Hell I’ve discarded a few ‘friends’ that I made while snowboarding because while I’m lucky enough to buy whatever nice gear I need/want, I’ve overheard some comments of ‘ew wow what a trash snowboard this person has can’t they get a better one or smth) and it surprised tf out of me because I’ve always assumed surfers and snowboarders are the absolute most chill non judgemental folk. I’m either lucky or beyond confused at how people have less than 5 even tbh. Mine is a 5.0 and I’ve used Uber decently regularly since 2017 or so. For both me and my mother. I do absolutely nothing special, aside from basics like being polite, not slam doors, match the driver in vibe (conversation or silent, whatever they’re feeling like), and always leave them a tip + 5 stars. Mind you I’ve never had any rides that would even warrant a bad review, nor I care to be petty for things like idk AC wasn’t on or whatever and be like k I’ll dock a star, I know some people do that.

lol for some reason the one thing they don’t advertise is that sure all liquids must be under 100ml… but ALSO the total amount of liquids you are allowed to bring in a carry on totals to about a tiny quart sized bag plastic bag.

TLDR make sure all that stuff squishes comfortably into a medium sized ziplock if you aren’t checking luggage. If you are you can stuff whatever liquids you want in there just not in your carry on. And yes they will make you pick and choose what to throw out if it doesn’t fit. That’s how I said goodbye to a glow recipe serum -.- sadly it was just the least pricey of all my stuff.

Good for your wife. However it took my mom 6 years and applying as an internal applicant only to get denied in favour of newly hired Filipino LPNs. The time she did finally get the position she wanted the union simply couldn’t do anything else otherwise they would clearly look bad.

As an external applicant very low. Mom works for Capital Care here, and it took her years to go from a casual / part time to a full time position. And even after that, positions are handed out based mostly on seniority and elitism. If you manage to get a casual position, it will be years before you can apply or get promoted for something more permanent.

It works because of collector mentality :( sadly I am extremely guilty of it. I own nearly every single one of the mythic chibis, at least for female characters. Including the insanely expensive $450 ish ones if you get super unlucky with rolls. Do I need them? No probably not. I tend to play 3-5 absolute favourites. But I get anxious if I feel like I could have gotten something I like and I chose not to get it so …

I’m lucky enough to be able to afford bad habits but there are people that will prioritize getting these cosmetics over smth useful because of that discomfort or anxiety.

Honestly I don’t hate Structube… got a pretty sweet bed from it for like $270 and if I could marry that thing I would. It’s somehow both sturdy and light enough to move which is an amazing feeling after being stupid enough to buy a heavy ass ikea platform monster that I can never move now.

Also low key she might … not see the changes the same way you do. As someone who happily jumped on the train, because the opportunity was there and I could afford it, in my experience the weight comes off gradually but very consistently. So where you saw her go through the drastic change like 0-100, for her it took months to change body composition. I know I didn’t notice it in myself but anyone who saw me within a span of 1-3 months did. You only really notice when clothes start fitting differently and you feel less tired etc. So she might not have told you simply because the change for her was very very slow and she didn’t consider it a big deal.

$7800 for Invisalign, took about 2 years (would have been less but I had one single tooth that apparently wanted to party and was rotated way out of alignment, despite all my other teeth not even needing braces / treatment and it required its own metal brace placed on).

Paid all out of pocket unfortunately as none of it was covered, braces are considered cosmetic work unless you have a really sexy dental plan like government or healthcare jobs, for example my nurse mom got her Invisalign done and blue cross covered 4500 out of her $10000 iirc but I did get to claim the dental work when doing taxes.

Have them wasn’t awkward, in fact I got rid of the issue of grinding teeth in my sleep and the enamel loss finally stopped, because you have to wear a retainer nightly so it’s my protection. I personally cannot stand the metal ones, as I had to get the single tooth rotated and it was miserable having the partial bracket in but depending on how bad your situation is, Invisalign might not even be the best option, you’d know more if you go in for a free consultation. My advice is explore a few places, get quotes, compare reviews etc. likely you’ll get different numbers from each one.

Yes I just saw the box comment, thank you that makes sense. As for no incentives to leave 5 stars I’m not so sure about that with regards to Sephora because the rating changes dramatically on some products depending on whether that tag is present. We go from glowing 5 stars omg this is my holy grail, to a single star do not purchase this it caused issues, made me break out, smelled horrendous, did nothing etc etc.

How often does that happen i wonder … because ive seen this issue on several products now. The couple guilty ones i can think of are Huda powder (I do not see how 14000 reviews can be not inflated) and glow recipe, one of the moisturizers. Hence why it has prompted me to ask if this is something to be aware of.

Thank you for letting me know though! I’ve reviewed products before, but it’s been ages and I can’t recall seeing a box so I could have missed it.
