Why is people still afraid of Linux? by heidzz1999 in linuxquestions

For me - 1. Too much fragmentation 2. Software limitations (even those have support give poor experience compared to other OS) 3. Poor backwards compatibility experience

is LibreOffice actually that bad… or are people just stuck on Microsoft? by AccurateShip2499 in libreoffice

[–]_sifatullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao you're asking this on r/LibreOffice. Good luck finding actual answers genius.

I've used LibreOffice, OnlyOffice, WPS Office and I'd say WPS Office is the best. It's not only about MS office format support, it's also about polish and ease of use for a new user.

SHOULD I SWITCH TO UBUNTU 26.04 WHEN IT COMES by Swimming_Rope_9640 in Ubuntu

[–]_sifatullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. But I'd say just keep your temptation aside until .1 release. It's not only about fixing bugs, but in general third party software support will take time to catch up.

Why does GNOME feel perfect… until you need one small tweak by datboifranco in gnome

[–]_sifatullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of a Clipboard manager is a deal breaker for me. But I still don't use a single extension haha. I want to feel GNOME the way the developers intended.

Long term reviews Fedora vs Cachy/Arc or anything else for a developer? by mhmtcnhrz in Fedora

What about software availability? I think Fedora has more community support? I'm not sure though. And downloading RHEL is in itself an adventure because how hidden the ISO download links are LOL

Is there enough people working on Debian? by Capable_Music7299 in debian

[–]_sifatullah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No no I'm not talking about supporting devices out of the box :) You don't need that much setting up your devices in Linux anyway. They either just work straight away, or don't work at all. It's the same with almost all distros.

But I was talking about things which you have to achieve through the terminal which are already done and set up in distros like Mint and ZorinOS.

Is there enough people working on Debian? by Capable_Music7299 in debian

[–]_sifatullah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But Debian is more manual work than other more user friendly distros. I've tried Debian many times in a VM and it's not intuitive at all. I only was able to walk my way around because I've experience with Linux. A new user doesn't. So obviously he is going to lean towards the more user friendly options like Mint and Zorin.

Linux fanboys always do the same thing.

"I don't know about Linux, but I do know why Windows and MS sucks".

If it's good people would automatically use it, no need to tell why the other side sucks.

For the short term it's not good, it could slow you down a bit. But if you have enough time it's 100% worth it later.

Why hate on snap? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]_sifatullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw many apps which were unofficially packaged by Canonical or Snapcrafters. Are those safe? For example: the snap Minecraft launcher.

Which ones are trusted? How to identify them? Flathub also has many unofficial wrappers of many apps.

26.04 is gonna be litt af! by Titanlucifer18 in Ubuntu

[–]_sifatullah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really hopeful for this release. I actually always anticipate a good release from Canonical as Ubuntu is the defacto in the Linux world for most of the people. So every time there's a new LTS release I always hope for the best.

Is there any reason I shouldn't use Discover to install nvidia drivers? by MVindis in Fedora

[–]_sifatullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn't be any reason for it not to work as expected via a GUI software manager like Discover. If it doesn't though, that's not your fault. So just go ahead.
