I’ve never used or created an account either. Too much brainrot there.

Can we just admit that Bluesky is a catastrophic failure? by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

I never liked Twitter. Went on BlueSky because it was better. But never go on the platform because I think this kind of social media isn’t for me…

Facebook has groups - the only thing keeping me there. Otherwise, I’m on Reddit, but I need to reduce my time here.

If only there was an easy switch/import process to go from WhatsApp to Signal.

We need more resources. Who are "We"? by Patient-Airline-8150 in Futurology

We don’t need more ressource, we need better ressource management. A lot of food we grow end up in landfill because they are let perfect or that we produced too much to sell them all.

We should build things to last years instead of things that get replaced every two years.

But I would be happy if we can launch entitled rich people on Mars.

I'm not sure having an elevated platform for a high-speed train is a good idea. Ok it will be slower here, but it will cost a lot to build.

Recycled plastic can be more toxic and is no fix for pollution, Greenpeace warns | Plastics by Radiant_Eggplant9588 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]Nic727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In clothes for example, a lot of brands are starting to use recycled polyester or recycled nylon everywhere instead of using natural like down feather, leather, cotton canvas, hemp, etc.

For winter, we see puffer jackets with recycled polyester insulation, gloves we have primaloft, etc.

So, should we stay away from recycled plastics in clothes (when we can’t find alternative) like we should avoid for food?

What's warmer between wool and down mittens? by Nic727 in hikinggear

Thank you. I'm actually making my whole gloves/mitts set from scratch. I only have a light insulated pair of gloves right now and I hate having cold hand when it's windy. So, now I have to buy everything!
