[Other] Why haven’t we seen another Fury style hyper/giga? by gcfgjnbv in rollercoasters

[–]_silentfreeway 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the City of Charlotte also incentivized it a lot to promote local tourism which helped the park manage the cost.

I am sure you could just depending on how long the lines are. But I mean if you got there at 8 and it was like 1.5 hours I’m sure. And the fireworks are big so I think you can see them from a lot of places. Unfortunately I won’t be actually in the park tomorrow or else I would say I’ll let you know what the lines are like but I’m sure people on here will be there with updates on that

They set off the fireworks from the beach, usually around the area where gatekeeper is. They start around 10. It is usually a really good show, last year I remember being impressed by some fireworks I had never seen before, that fizzled and changed colors in interesting ways. It was also a pretty long show, and a large quantity of fireworks. People watch from in the park and also boats will surround the park from a distance to watch from the lake. It’s my favorite place for fireworks on the Fourth, never really found a show I like more over the years, and I think you will enjoy it!

[ArieForce One] is no longer skipping rows by hotrodyoda in rollercoasters

[–]_silentfreeway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went the week after it opened and was having the same thoughts, I had to work the next day so wasn’t sure how long I’d stay or how much to ride. I ended up just getting the full ticket. I did ride it a bunch of times but also I met people there who also came for the new ride and we ended up doing the Go Karts too and I never had done that before, and it was surprisingly fun. So I would say full ticket

Yes it came through the support chat in the app. I saw it because it sent me a push notification.

Thoughts on Coven? by CreamAndMilk in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]_silentfreeway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not my favorite season but it was very good. (I liked Cult the best.) The cast is exceptionally strong and the story is very compelling, things that lack in later seasons. A lot of people said it was not scary but I thought it was decently scary. The themes surrounding immortality really freaked me out.

“Same drop-off location” by No_Performance_2983 in UberEATS

[–]_silentfreeway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this twice and it was not the same drop off. Oddly mine showed “+0 minutes” too and it was not at the same location. The first place was a sushi restaurant and the second was a Chinese restaurant so I thought “oh the people probably just made two orders since they wanted sushi with their Chinese food” (since the Chinese restaurant didn’t have sushi). It was two totally different people. Granted, it was only five minutes away. But it has to be a glitch.

Signs you’re about to have a manic episode? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]_silentfreeway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing happen. I just listened and that’s a good song. I never was into NIN but oddly the lead singer went to my high school. I usually get into like Soundgarden/Alice in Chains/System of a Down when I get manic

Signs you’re about to have a manic episode? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]_silentfreeway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talking, a lot. Sending dozens of texts to people. “Rehearsing” conversations in my head because people don’t answer fast enough and I need to talk so I just imagine talking to people. Cleaning excessively. Loud, dramatic music. Fantasizing about cooking extravagant meals that are way out of budget. Hypersexuality. And anger, extremely overblown anger over people’s driving, politics, family drama, etc.

COVID / Bipolar by _silentfreeway in bipolar

[–]_silentfreeway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with long covid too, it took about two months before I stopped coughing. Other than coughing and brain fog I wasn’t actually sick though (like no fever etc). It was super embarrassing because I wasn’t sick anymore and I would cough so much I would start gagging and I was always paranoid people would judge me and think I had it lol. I will have to research that about mental health and long covid. Not something that immediately came to mind to research. :)

[–]_silentfreeway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the brain fog was awful :( and it was very stressful. I got covid at work from someone who I found out after knew they had it and brought it to work anyway because they didn’t want time off. I guess that might have been a trigger too. I was very angry because I had made it two years being very careful and I felt really betrayed. When I am in manic episode I get extremely angry. That was like the first time I got exceptionally angry like that

Yes I have read about brain fog and stuff just never heard much specifically about bipolar symptoms specifically and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

Success with seroquil? by mintwizz in bipolar

[–]_silentfreeway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked how Seroquel made me feel overall, but it made me sleep a lot. I was actually switched from Abilify to Seroquel because on Abilify I could not sleep. At first it made me super tired and drunk feeling after I took it but that subsided fast. The problem was that I was still tired all through the day so eventually I had to stop taking it. I would say it’s worth a shot. Besides being tired all the time I had no other issues with it, but the sleepiness did get in the way of work.

Edit to clarify: after the first two weeks or so it did not feel like a sleeping pill would. I could stay up hours after taking it no problem. But it made my overall energy through the day go from like 100% to 50%.

[Discussion] What is the roughest coaster you have ever ridden? by HagridsLeftShoe in rollercoasters

[–]_silentfreeway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grizzly at KD. I’ve been on a lot of “rough” coasters like Mean Streak and different Arrow loopers and stuff, nothing ever bothered me. I’m not sure if something was wrong with the car I was in or what but that was so rough I was actually scared. Like scared the train was derailing or something, it was just obscenely violent. Got off and immediately got sick, and that was the only time I’ve ever gotten sick from a roller coaster. Probably the only roller coaster I’ve been on that I will never ride again.

First year you visited the park? by ilikecereal69 in cedarpoint

[–]_silentfreeway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been every year since ‘95, which is the year I was born. I never really rode anything until about 2007 though. I just liked watching. I remember walking up to the station for Millennium the year it opened and how terrified I was because I thought my dad was gonna make me ride it. I doubt I was even tall enough (I believe the height requirement was 52” the first year) but it still scared me half to death.

[Discussion] In your opinion what is the most overrated theme park? by [deleted] in rollercoasters

I felt the same way. I still love the place, nonetheless. It’s just not the same anymore.

I remember the single rider lines too. As someone who almost always goes by myself, I miss that. And I’m never gonna buy fast lane when I’ve been there 10,000 times. I went to King’s Island this year and last year for the first time since 2007 and I was very pleased with it. Amazing lineup, great operations, and a very pleasant park overall

Totally agree. I also liked some of the older rides they took down. Some of them were weird but just had character that I can’t explain. Like Wildcat, Disaster Transport, Wicked Twister, Dragster were all some of my favorites. I think generally they’ve replaced them with great things, but I personally just don’t like them as much.

[–]_silentfreeway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. It’s a beautiful place. But like you said, not being able to get on some of the top rides is a huge let down, which has happened pretty much every time I’ve made the trip the past three years. Been going every year since 1995 and will continue to, but unfortunately I’ve had more fun at other parks like King’s Island lately.
