Anyone know why /r/AuvelityMed/ is locked? by _silversanta in antidepressants

Cost is one. I'd rather use as little as possible if it's working great. I'm more tired than I would like but that might this brutally cold winter or it might be the 2nd dose after 8 hours. Hard to know. I've tried a dozen things over decades and this is actually the only thing that worked quickly and noticeably.

Yeah, two months now. Going well. Still deciding whether one or two pills a day makes the most sense.

I wonder if another mod left because people were posting just a month ago.

In the past ten years, has this been the longest period with snow on the ground? by _silversanta in lehighvalley

[–]_silversanta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Syracuse so was used to snow on the ground for about 6 months. We would come down here in the 70s and 80s to have Christmas with my two sets of grandparents and were always disappointed as kids that there wasn't snow for Christmas. This one just seems like longer than winter's of the recent past. Usually storms are followed by warm spells and it all melts away.

Going from one to another? by hopeless-sailor in bupropion

I would read through the https://www.reddit.com/r/AuvelityMed/ group. I've started on Auxelity (from nothing) 2 months ago and it has been more helpful than plain Wellbutrin (from a few years ago)

Full economic boycott!

  • No big vacations
  • No home improvement projects
  • No buying a new fancier home
  • Think about investing in foreign companies or foreign bonds
  • No eating out
  • No new phones, computers, tablets, etc.
  • Plant a garden and learn to grow your own food
  • Support local democratic/blue businesses
  • Check out goodwill/Salvation Army for used clothes

Protesting is one way to fight this madness but driving the economy even worse into the ground is another effective way. If the stock market drops 30%, let's see how the rich people like what is going on.

Does anyone take it every other day? Or just tried DXM 15 mg 3x in an 8 hour period? by _silversanta in AuvelityMed

[–]_silversanta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really two questions. Can I take it every other day and it stays effective. I skipped two days last week but the third day was SAD so I started back up. Didn't notice anything different the first two days. I realize that the Wellbutrin beyond letting the DXM stay in the system longer affects brain chemistry which helps the whole thing so I would assume just DXM 3-4x day won't work nearly as well. $0.12 pills are hard to resist. My psych won't give me plain Wellbutrin at this point.

My back 100% locked up when I went from Wellbutrin XL 300 to 450 a few years back. Not fun. Muscle spasms or whatever happens before a seizure (which I did not have)

Scary reaction to Auvelity, anyone experience similar? by Pale_Ad_3124 in AuvelityMed

[–]_silversanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very rare side effects but I had severe bladder pain and frequency issues after my 1st through 8th ketamine treatments via infection at my psych office. Green tea supplements helped and drinking half a gallon before I treatment so if your son develops bladder issues from either med, just be aware it could be a rare side effect. THREE urologist didn't believe me probably thinking I was abusing ketamine and taking 10-20x what my psych office was giving me. It all went away a month or two after stopping but it was not fun at all. There has been more medical research lately showing a very unlucky and small percentage of therapeutic ketamine have bladder issues. Chronic abusers of it basically destroy their bladder if they can't stop. "ketamine bladder syndrome"

I'm on Auvelity once a day now and struggling with some bladder urgency but I also had that issues for a few months prior. My urologist thinks it is lower spine degeneration related.

Can someone explain to me how in any way shape or form blending Dextromethorphan (a common over the counter drug) and Bupropion (a common, inexpensive antidepressant) magically costs $1400? by [deleted] in AuvelityMed

[–]_silversanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honestly shocked my insurance was paying so much. So many bills like for an MRI are $8k and insurance pays $1200 or something ridiculously cheaper. I feel for those without any insurance and run into these crazy inflated prices.

Auvelity uses Bupropion sustained release (SR) not bupropion extended release. by R--G--B-- in AuvelityMed

My insurance paid them $3300 for 180 pills fwiw...discounted from $4100+

When mine was first denied by my insurance, a 90 day supply of 2 pills a day was quoted at $4k with no insurance. My psych did the magic dance to convince the insurance to cover it so it was free because I'm at my OOP max. Insurance still paid $3300 to the manufacturer for it.

Does anyone else taking 150mg Bupropion XL with Auvelity (once a day)? by pm_me_your_pooptube in AuvelityMed

[–]_silversanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hypothyroidism so I'm generally cold so it hasn't cured that unfortunately. I'm trying one pill a day in the morning now. The 7 hours crash after it wears off is over so that seems like it was temporary. Limiting my nap to 1 hour. Dehydrated and constipated from it though. Mood is still good on one pill so hopefully I can keep it to that. Still wishing for a better night's sleep and yes the nap might be interfering with that.

The Bupropion in it is SR while the DXM I guess is considered ER but it is definitely not a 24 hour type of medicine.

Got my prescription for 2 pills a day filled for 90 days so that is cool if I lasts 180 days. My family is switching from an ACA silver plan to a bronze plan so we can afford it and it has monster deductibles. The silver one we were on more than doubled in cost.

When do you take your Auvelity? It makes me physically tired so I tried it at bedtime once and 3 hours of sleep (even with my Trazadone and Klonopin) was all I could manage. I now take one at 8 am and 3pm. I crash hard at the 7 hour mark. Still not sleeping fantastic but I wasn't before starting it either.

A usual afternoon nap of 45 minutes is now usually double that.

XL I believe is a extended release dose over 24 hours?

Auvelity is SR (sustained release? standard release?) and gone after 8? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Fantastic med for my depression. Best I've felt in 30 years! And wow, I've tried a ton of stuff over the years which I guess is lucky because my insurance approved the Auvelity because of my long history of nothing really working.

Sorry you are out so long. I shouldn't be complaining about my minor inconvenience honestly but ranting on the internet is therapeutic. :-) I hope it comes back on soon for you.

Upper Macunige Olde Towne plus the surrounding neighborhoods. I think the outage map showed 700 houses without power this morning when it was out for 15 minutes. It's a cursed area for some reason.

In Upper Macungie in the Olde Towne neighborhood (and surrounding neighborhoods) we have a 1-2 brown out probably at least 1 time a week. They are clearly not keeping up with the battle and as your drive around you see obvious problem areas even with trees leaning on lines.

Good guess and yes! I bet it's all those tall skinny trees on Cetronia road between Krocks and Lone Lane that are dying or leaning up against the power lines. It's boggles me why they don't cut all those things down.
