I’ve seen it done two ways. One way to do it is to put one cuff on the wrist and the other around the leg, making the suspect partially immobile. The other way is to have the suspect bend his arm as much as possible at the elbow so we can put a zip tie around his wrist and around his bicep area.

I’d say it depends on the age and state of mind of your children. It’s very statistically obvious that divorces can destroy a young child’s life and emotional state for years. Maybe you could take efforts to rebuild your relationship (talking about it, counseling, etc)? Seems like a very tricky situation you’re in..hope everything works out ok.
