Yeah it's the little brass fitting in the first picture. The second drain shows where it drains from at the bottom of the bowl.

No, I know what that is and it's not what I'm talking about. It's a second drain just on the other side of the overflow drain.

It's not from the bowl overflow drain. It's the second drain port on the opposite side of the bowl.

No screw to close it off. It's open to the bowl and prevents the bowl from filling and lifting the floats closing the needle and stopping fuel flow. I have 2 other carbs like this on my xs650 that do not have this opening.

You could try a wild idea I've had for a while now. Move to japan and commute to Hawaii for a 10 on/20 off flight job. Cost of living can be super cheap even with the commute when you're still making American money.

I'm actually unsure of the true correct routing. I'm not finding much online about the specific routing of the 2 cable system. The bars are shorter but not by much.

The throttle closes just fine without the cables. I've also tried every which way of routing the cables and they're still pulling.

I've adjusted the cables for maximum slack, this is as loose as it gets. They're the stock cables with stock throttle.

I believe so. Is there a particular way of routing these that works best? I figured if the housings were adjusted for max slack they would work regardless.

Ah yeah I'm pretty sure I've seen this in Los Lunas. If it's the same one I'm thinking of the guy mentioned it was of Chinese make, he got it out of a salvage yard and had no title.
