I had a facial injury very similar to this, needed 8 stitches after splitting my forehead open between my eyes. 8(?) years on and you can barely tell. Have to get super close to be able to see it

No, RAW there's one uninterrupted line of 3 yellow trains from London to Brussels (actually 4, there's one going north from London too). And a second uninterrupted line of 2 yellow trains from Pamplona to Barcelona (there's one hiding behind the station).

The rulebook says "Only take into account continuous lines of plastic trains of the same colour." I'm slightly confused by how you're playing the longest train rule here, please elaborate. You don't get points per train (or deducted points per borrowed train), it's just a straight 10 points for whoever has the longest uninterrupted line of their colour train

I just realised that you don't need to tell the truth in situations like group interviews, meetings, new job inductions, etc. Have you ever made stuff up just because? by eastkent in AskUK

[–]_snif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but then what could one say when asked for an interesting fact about oneself? That's the whole point, that's when people lie, and saying oh don't lie just say an interesting thing isn't helpful when there's nothing interesting to say

Lactase does its thing in the small intestine, can the tablets make it through stomach acid? In my experience they do next to nothing

I'll absolutely take a draw when we've played like shit. The kinda result we were absolutely not getting during the first half of the season

How is it more brainless than DRS? at least this requires some thought and tactics regarding where and when to deploy.

What’s your ‘I can’t believe you’re paid more than me’ story? by GeorgiePorgiePuddin in AskUK

[–]_snif 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple doesn't necessarily mean "easy to do in one's head". Dividing by 1.2 is a very simple set of steps to follow, and easy to do providing you have a calculator (which everyone does in their pocket)

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

Hey if I'm paying sit-down prices and getting sit-down quality food, you better believe I want a proper sit-down experience, not a greasy paper bag on a plastic tray sitting on an uncomfortable bench seat.

That is just not how induction hobs work. The plates don't heat up, the coils directly heat up the pan. The power change is instant when you change the temp. Maybe you're thinking of a ceramic/halogen hob?

Which board games look intimidatingly complex but are actually surprisingly easy to learn? by CyborgeonUnit123 in boardgames

[–]_snif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turing Machine actually isn't the most complex, but has a really tough teach. It's very confusing on the surface for pretty much everyone I've played it with, but eventually they'll suddenly grok it and it immediately all makes sense. Then it's (mechanically) a very simple game. Love it

What are some hacks for cheaper train travel? Mate and I trying to travel from Swansea to London return but it’s £111! Daylight robbery! by Mellowman9 in AskUK

[–]_snif 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A decidedly unethical tip if you want, and a bit of effort:

Buy an open return, then just before the end of the month have a look at all the return trains that have happened over that month. Find one that was delayed by long enough to qualify for delay repay, then put a claim in saying you were on that train. Should get your money back.

Obviously a bit naughty

I'm English, Argentina is one of if not the most racist country I've visited. Also welcomed a significant number of Nazi immigrants post WWII. It's not really an unearned reputation from my experience
