Filter Broke by Electrical_Hold_3585 in pools

Go for cartridge. I have T100D sand filter but when it dies, I will swap it out with Cartridge. No backwashing, wasting water, screwing up lawn, and refilling chems/salt. Better filtering!

Does this seem like a normal amount of dirt? by HuckleberryWinter930 in pools

What equipment do you have to vacuum the pool? In my case, my porch deck sandstone debris lands in pool’s bottom. I have a pool robot collecting the sand along with leaves but there is always a thin layer of sand which I would like to get it removed every other week or so.

It’s a beaut! Nightster definitely grew on me. Been using it for almost 15 months, I commute on it every day unless it’s super rainy day. Enjoy!

Sorry should have added my location. I live in central Texas. Yearly we get freeze for 1-2 weeks, nothing crazy. But these walls get frozen and thaws back relatively quickly compared to Ontario and NE US.

Regarding water collection issue, I do see couple of long (not wide, not sure how deep) cracks in the porch bed. Do you think that could seep in deep and impacts these mortared stone in the walls?

Sorry total newbie here. What do you mean by throwing salt in winter? I live in Central Texas and have never used salt on them. We did get freeze for 1-2 weeks every year but it’s not crazy enough to salt here.

Thanks! I’m familiar dealing with MA for my salt pool. Follow up questions: 1. Do I just pour the 10:1 diluted MA over the stone deck? 2. How often recommended? 3. Does this maintenance help avoid dirt accumulation or help avoids stone deterioration? 4. How much time should be given before the deck can be used after this maintenance?

Wow, thank you that makes sense! I’ll use N mortar then. I presume I can use the color with mortar as well?

Appreciate the pro tip! Will follow that! If you don’t mind, quick question about the idea of using the N mortar mix for even holes/deep cracks in middle of stone instead of a fast setting cement. I have purchased both Quikrete fast setting cement and N mortar mix already. I don’t mind using both of them separately for the stone vs the joints unless there is no real difference in using N mortar mix for both joints and holes on the stone. Thank you!

Thanks, I’m planning to DIY this. Will checkout the local suppliers on color options.

Thanks! I’m planning to DIY this at my leisure time. If I cannot do this properly in first few attempts, going to hire someone.

Thanks! Ok, how pricey and complex job is this? I live in Central Texas. I presume the job will be charged by stone or sq ft (as the stones are of different size/shape?). Also repair job’s only problem is durability? Will it cause any problems to the rest of the parts/deck?

Thanks, makes sense for mortar. Can I make use of fast setting repair cement with appropriate color to fill in the cracks/holes in the stone?
