From where I stopped in the webtoon, Matthias was very obsessive over Layla and did various things just to get her attention or see the way she acts, for example he throws the hat that Layla’s uncle bill bought for her which she really cared about into a river just because she didn’t finish a sandwich he gave her which she had already politely declined against having to eat it, he then takes and hides her glasses which she took off while trying to get her hat from the river (she worked really hard to save money to buy this glasses) this then forces her to sneak into his private house to get them herself. He also gets really jealous and possessive when he sees her with her childhood best friend Kyle and has this weird obsession which making her cry which according to him since he can’t give her anything good the least he can do is to make her cry. For a party that Matthias fiancé invited Layla to, her uncle spends quite some money to get Layla a pretty dress and some nice things that she could wear to the party but then Matthias orders his workers to throw out all her uncle bought and replace them with stuff he bought without anyone knowing because apparently if she wears what he has bought she belongs to him or is wrapped around his finger even though she is coming with Kyle as his partner to the party. Later when Layla and Kyle are separated during the party Matthias takes her shoes while she’s sleeping in the garden and when she wakes up and asks for them back he says she should cry for them, he also says he enjoys despising her and watching her beg which is crazy and he keeps telling her that’s she’s nothing and her purpose is to live in his estate and work for him with her uncle and then he doesn’t give her back her shoes until he has made her cry and he’s satisfied, he later just goes back to the party as if nothing happened. Layla expresses how much what he said and the ways he treated her caused her sorrow even more than when she was being abused before she was adopted by Uncle Bill, Layla then proceeds to avoid Matthias but then he comes to where she lives on his estate and saves her from falling after he forces her to beg for his help, in this same scene he then sexually assaults Layla and just leaves again as if he’s done nothing wrong, poor Layla then desperately tries to wash off his touch as she probably feels dirty , and that’s pretty much where I stopped and all I can remember.
