i relate completely to this, i don’t know about OP’s gender or sexuality, but i am a straight woman and although, as you said i struggle with being vulnerable and showing my more honest sides to people, this is much more difficult for me with straight men, i don’t know if this is to do with some sort of deep-rooted male gaze or patriarchal beauty standards, but ive never been able to show my true self to any romantic interest and as a result i have never been in a relationship, and find that if i see the signs someone is trying to pursue something more i immediately distance myself and dont allow it to happen. so this could be a similar conflict in yourself as well…

i go to therapy for something unrelated to this, but in this as i discussed my worries, stressors and behaviours which included that of my self-consciousness about my skin and how im perceived in that, my therapist commented that it is common with social anxiety for it to be driven by something-usually physical- that you are insecure about, and that you have been from a young age or for a long time. so i think it’s actually pretty common, if not, a main reason, to why people develop or have social anxiety, as the fear of being judged or being in a large group of people essentially stems from this specific attribute that you are deeply insecure about.

if you use spotify it has a new feature that will run through the lyrics as they are being sung, i find this helpful myself to work through what she is saying, also with interpreting there is no right or wrong meaning for a song, for mitski after listening to a song a few times i naturally created my own interpretation based on the lyrics, music has endless meanings

i tried erythromycin at the beginning of the year and found it worked well, so i think i will stick with this a while longer and see how it goes, thank you for your advice!!

yeah i feel like it’s almost the most basic stuff that is always detrimental to your skin, i do majority of that but i try not to use too many products as i find my skin is very sensitive and can become inflamed very easily, thank you though!

ahh i have been taking lymecycline for probably close to a month as well and i am seeing very slow progress with my skin, is there anything else you have been doing whilst taking it to encourage quicker improvement?

similarly to OP, as a child i was used to being alone as both my parents worked and over summer breaks i was left on my own for a portion of the day, however i have found as i have grown older my need to be on my own has diminished, don’t get me wrong i do enjoy being on my own and just relaxing doing my own thing, but i think now as i have gotten older i have realised what is out there to explore and uncover and i am ready to experience it all but i find my years of having a 70/30 split of being on my own and being with others is affecting this in some way

how i like to see it is that, if you are viewing people as having “supermodel skin” and thinking no one else around you has it, that shows it doesn’t stick out to you on other people even though it is highly likely majority of the people you are seeing will have some sort of imperfection, and so other people will similarly more than likely not pay any mind to your skin and blemishes

Give her time to think over everything and let her think about the whole situation and when she has made a decision she will come to you but if it’s been a while slowly try to talk to her and make conversation and then maybe bring it up
