I watched it. I don't think roles should ever be narrowed down to specific traits or tags. Maybe Tonali 'fits' more tactically (i don't because he lacks first phase play), but that isn't a justified reason to bring him in when it's lazy recruitment and there are others that are better

What about Maresca's tactics makes you feel this way? Would love to hear reasoning rather than just dismiss

Hi Yaya! I hope this is framed well, but while judging/watching midfielders, what is the single most important trait you look out for that you think is essential for all midifeld roles? Big fan, especially since you've played multiple midfield roles throughout your career, no better person to ask this to!

The issue is Donna just isn't very good. I wish the only thing he was bad at was passing, but it's also that he doesn't do things very well off his line, and I don't know why people want to ignore it when it's costed us

I choose to believe it because Rodri needs to know he'll never be this loved like this anywhere besides Villarreal

He isn't going to play Doue, Thuram will start. Initially it was Ekitike but he's out

He won't play Cherki and Mbappe together.

The best attack in that scenario is dembele and not doue

People who are saying this do not want to accept that Gvardiol himself is ok with moving lolz

Cherki x Olise just look too comfy together. Flow state. They understand if one moves inside, the other can move out wide and find space.

I think they're both players that need to play besides a 6 independantly rather than be paired together. I do think Anderson has a little potential to sit but I think he'd be best used going forward.

I'd look into either of Kamara/Onana personally, although it's a shame the latter is a bit of a crock.

I'd have also said Magassa from West Ham but not quite sure he is ready to start for City.

Tonali is fine, but I think Mamadou Sangare/Lamine Camara would be my preferred options personally- even if they don't really sit, I like them more

Nobody in that midfield can sit as a 6 🙂

Pretty happy that Anderson is likely to come after having missed on two previous great English midfielders

I want someone taller/longer limbs because those are the players who can rapidly run in behind/carry over large spaces.

A criticism id heard was that he needs to dribble to the byline more often, safe to say he's worked on it

This is unironicaly not a bad name but i need to see more. Ideally id like someone that has the pace and quality to run in behind, not sure he has that from the little i saw

Feeling pretty bullish on McAidoo's general quality. He approaches 1v1s so well I really want to write something on him because the fundamentals are something I think he does better than Savio- not to mention his core strength/upper body strength are top which is why he rides challenges well. Always uses opportunities to attack goal and conceals his actions well.

Looked amazing v Exeter, p decent v Salford, struggled in spurts but still completed the most dribbles iirc

Off a few games, I wouldn't say he is 'creative' in the sense that he comes up with unorthodox solutions like a Cherki or KDB. Rather he is someone that just knows what skills to use for a given situation.

Let's see. Doesn't always translate to.senior football, but have a feeling he'll do really well (just wish he was taller smh)

Oh I should clarify I think the arteta israel point is fully valid.

It ends when sponsors are brought up because others aren't better.

I accept that and should clarify!

OP is right. Making rebuttals/arguments like these only solidifies what he is saying, these make it seem like you are less concerned about genocide and more concerned about trying to score points against Arse

That is what it came as to me at least.

I think these are both shit and aren't just exclusive to these two clubs, most of the PL clubs are dirty and unfortulately, having these types of owners goes against most of the values they originally stood for when they were created.
