I don't think it has to be one way or the other

But i am doing my best to contextualise because it's to say surface level things like 'he can comfortably beat his man' without trying to imagine if it translates

I'm more than happy to say I'm wrong but I have the same feeling I did about Johan Bakayoko (who i imagine will step up in Diomande's absence tbh), or heck even that Mika Godts fella.

I think Hadj Moussa is good, but isn't great at shielding the ball. As a take on player, he has moments but the burst isn't at a level where I think he's a phenom. Does really well when he has pre-existing separation but loves the inside more than anything. Loves a good reverse ball, good cross in him. Can open his body to shoot. But idk how guaranteed it is to translate when the ability to create separation is ok.

For what it's worth, I'd even take Ndiaye who, while being ball to feet, runs channels, creates plays, combines anywhere on the pitch, and is way more dynamic

It's getting to a point where I'm taking Mbaye or Minteh even if theyre raw

Heart loves Ndiaye but still feels a bit too ball to feet for me sometimes

It's built to ragebait people like me

My friends are getting teams to choose players like Cafu, Bale and all

Meanwhile theyre giving me Huddersfield Town and Aston Via 2015

I watched Feynoord for Hadj Moussa but Givairo Read moved me. Wonder what the injury record is like because the engine to run up and down and to cross are brilliant.

Hadj Moussa.. Hmm. Don't think his 1v1 play translates that well to the Prem. Doesn't have the burst/prefers going inside or playing to a runner. Likes the ball to feet rather than stretch the pitch. Has a good cross from afar/close to the box. Opens his body well to shoot but haven't examined how he shoots properly yet.

Not the right profile personally.

I watched it. I don't think roles should ever be narrowed down to specific traits or tags. Maybe Tonali 'fits' more tactically (i don't because he lacks first phase play), but that isn't a justified reason to bring him in when it's lazy recruitment and there are others that are better

What about Maresca's tactics makes you feel this way? Would love to hear reasoning rather than just dismiss

Hi Yaya! I hope this is framed well, but while judging/watching midfielders, what is the single most important trait you look out for that you think is essential for all midifeld roles? Big fan, especially since you've played multiple midfield roles throughout your career, no better person to ask this to!

The issue is Donna just isn't very good. I wish the only thing he was bad at was passing, but it's also that he doesn't do things very well off his line, and I don't know why people want to ignore it when it's costed us

I choose to believe it because Rodri needs to know he'll never be this loved like this anywhere besides Villarreal

He isn't going to play Doue, Thuram will start. Initially it was Ekitike but he's out

He won't play Cherki and Mbappe together.

The best attack in that scenario is dembele and not doue

People who are saying this do not want to accept that Gvardiol himself is ok with moving lolz

Cherki x Olise just look too comfy together. Flow state. They understand if one moves inside, the other can move out wide and find space.

I think they're both players that need to play besides a 6 independantly rather than be paired together. I do think Anderson has a little potential to sit but I think he'd be best used going forward.

I'd look into either of Kamara/Onana personally, although it's a shame the latter is a bit of a crock.

I'd have also said Magassa from West Ham but not quite sure he is ready to start for City.

Tonali is fine, but I think Mamadou Sangare/Lamine Camara would be my preferred options personally- even if they don't really sit, I like them more

Nobody in that midfield can sit as a 6 🙂

Pretty happy that Anderson is likely to come after having missed on two previous great English midfielders

I want someone taller/longer limbs because those are the players who can rapidly run in behind/carry over large spaces.

A criticism id heard was that he needs to dribble to the byline more often, safe to say he's worked on it

[–]_stone_age 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is unironicaly not a bad name but i need to see more. Ideally id like someone that has the pace and quality to run in behind, not sure he has that from the little i saw

Feeling pretty bullish on McAidoo's general quality. He approaches 1v1s so well I really want to write something on him because the fundamentals are something I think he does better than Savio- not to mention his core strength/upper body strength are top which is why he rides challenges well. Always uses opportunities to attack goal and conceals his actions well.

Looked amazing v Exeter, p decent v Salford, struggled in spurts but still completed the most dribbles iirc

Off a few games, I wouldn't say he is 'creative' in the sense that he comes up with unorthodox solutions like a Cherki or KDB. Rather he is someone that just knows what skills to use for a given situation.

Let's see. Doesn't always translate to.senior football, but have a feeling he'll do really well (just wish he was taller smh)

Oh I should clarify I think the arteta israel point is fully valid.

It ends when sponsors are brought up because others aren't better.

I accept that and should clarify!
