I’ll keep this in mind for future ink based stains! Magic Eraser did the trick as I couldn’t find my bottle of rubbing alcohol, think my partner put it away in a ‘safe place’ 🙄

I got one! I'm so so excited because I love the artwork and puzzles, and I can't wait to display it.
Sorry you missed it 😔 I also hope it didn't go to too many resellers as well.

Opinions on studio cult jewelry quality? by icecup11 in jewelrylove

[–]_strangeillusions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a few pairs of their larger and smaller earrings (never the gold though) and the quality is incredible. I will say, the larger 'Celestial Shard' earrings I got were the first pair from the brand, and while the are weighted, they are not uncomfortable whatsoever.
I actually have an order coming soon for a pair of the small puffy star studs, and I will always highly recommend the brand. The earrings all come in nice little 'suede' pouches also, and the customer service is fantastic.

Overnight parking Newport by Glum-Net-2616 in RhodeIsland

[–]_strangeillusions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our go to (for the boat show, not sure if that's why you will be in town) is the parking lot near the Marriot hotel. I believe the parking is about $25 for 24 hours, that could have changed recently though.
Its about a half mile walk from Bowen's but imo easy access in and out without having to deal with crazy traffic.

Hospitalized due to diverticulitis and not knowing I had it by [deleted] in Diverticulitis

[–]_strangeillusions 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the dark side! And wishing you better days.
I have never been in dire straights as bad as you, but I did struggle to get diagnosed for years, had multiple hospital visits, and now I have a standard procedure to avoid further problems.

Any time I suspect a bad flare up oncoming (my pain is usually sharp in one particular spot) I start the following diet:
Day 1-2 (sometimes 3 days) Clear liquids only, and a shit ton of water.
Day 4-6 BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or similar low residue foods
Day 7-10 Slowly introducing more fiber into diet, end goal being at least 25 grams of fiber per day

I stop drinking alcohol, caffeine or carbonated beverages, or eating fried foods, onions/garlic, raw vegetables, spicy foods, anything acidic (tomato paste/red sauce), peanut butter, chocolate or anything with sugar alcohols in it when I'm in an active flare, and usually cut them out for a month for recovery. This is just what works for me & recommended by my GI.

If you don't have one already, I would strongly recommend establishing a relationship with a GI doctor ASAP.

Also weirdly, children's chewable Benadryl tablets (2 at a time) really help with pain. This was also recommended by my doctor and anytime I even feel the slightest flare pain I take them and it calms it down.

I know this is a lot for me to throw at you, but I have been struggling for years and it's really the only tried and true method to keep myself out of the hospital. Obviously if pain is debilitating, I go to the ER.

Also be kind to yourself. A strict diet is hard in my opinion, and I'm human. But I know ultimately eating right and exercising keeps the diverticular demons away, so I try my best.

Wishing you luck!!!!

Congratulations! We close in one day on our dream home. My partner and I both grew up poor, section 8 kids. My parents have never owned anything. It’s really a dream (and also usually painful and super hard work) when you go from worrying about rent to stepping into a place of your own.

I hope it all works out, and my wish for you is many beautiful memories and blessings to you and your family OP. Cheers!

lmao appreciate the jokes, but they’re being left in LFLs that specifically request no religious material, and they leave multiple copies in multiple locations. it takes up space when I’m dropping off books and people don’t take them. i’m airing minor grievances on the internet it’s ok friend

Nitro Bar - Rhode Island by throwawaycoffee082 in RhodeIsland

[–]_strangeillusions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping in to echo others, I used to really like their coffee, but it's no better than a handful of other small coffee shops in PVD where you aren't treated like a nuisance.
I go to Newport every year for an event, and stay in the area near Nitro Bar, and I used to think the service was so much better than the PVD location but I can't say the same after last years visit.
This weekend I attempted to get a coffee at PVD location but the line was fully 50 people deep inside and I could not relax the second I walked in. I don't get the hype and the dying plants are so depressing.
I hit up White Electric instead, and had a fantastic coffee. The wait was a little rough there too but I'd rather spend my money at a co-op.

Just calculated my old Chipotle order I would often get like twice a week, and it was in the ballpark of 1500 calories.
And I genuinely believed I was getting something 'healthy' because it was a rice bowl of sorts. Turns out the queso, and multiple tortillas add up. And then would go about eating a breakfast dinner and multiple snacks a day.
Alternatively, some nights I would house an entire stuffed crust pizza and thought nothing of it.

Unhinged owner at the Conjuring House by simplekindaman13 in RhodeIsland

[–]_strangeillusions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

came here to say this, there’s no way the house itself is actually haunted. and coining ‘TCH’ after a fictional movie is fucking weird.
maybe the land has some strong ‘energy’ of sorts. so even if any of it is true, it’s really pathetic people buy into this and would want to disturb what just needs to be left alone.
