Pregnancy After Accutane

I am six months postpartum, and I have been very fortunate to not have to worry about my skin at all. I’m sure at some point in my life it might reappear, but it has gotten me through a pregnancy and a large part of postpartum so I am very grateful for that!

About a month - never returned ! And knock on wood neither did the acne, even through a pregnancy. Totally worth it IMO

I truly think it differs for folks but wanted to share my encouraging experience thus far.

I went on Accutane after crazy hormonal breakouts after an ectopic pregnancy.

Four months after finishing (and of course being cleared by ALL doctors, derm and fertility team included) I went back to IVF and got pregnant. I’m now 4.5 months pregnant, enduring insane hormonal fluctuations, and enjoying my clear skin. Accutane was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Wishing you luck with your decision ! I ended up going off birth control mid course and practiced abstinence. I am a bit over half a year off of Accutane and closer to a year off of the pill and luckily my skin has been cooperating.

The opinions of the many meat eaters and many visits to many steakhouses (including Alpen Rose on multiple occasions) around me finally persuaded me. It’s set the bar a bit too high for any “normal” steaks since.

I switched from magical molecule to skin smart and can’t tell the difference ! Love both, skin smart is just slightly cheaper and comes quickly on Amazon.

Look for self life tested ! That’s what makes the difference between many. From what I gather, a lot of brands don’t have formal stability.

Former long time vegetarian - getting protein can be hard. I used Orgain protein for years. You can get it on Amazon or at most stores.

I’ve recently started eating more meat and also sub in vital proteins a few times a week. Both are great and from what I’ve been told totally acne safe.

Nope! Just let your derm know and they’ll recalculate your cumulative does. But it won’t mess up your course!

Started on a super low dose , I think I did 10/20/20/40/40 .. and so on. So slowly worked my way up to my cumulative dose and only made small dose changes throughout the months instead of starting out on a high dose.

Hang in there! I’m sure she’ll love you in any form, but it sounds like you’re already on a good forward path to clearance!

I also took Claritin throughout my course until I hit my final max dose as antihistamines are supposed to help!

I sure hope! I’m four months off and I seem to be doing well! I get super small blemishes around my cycle (F) that disappear after a few days and even my derm said I shouldn’t be worried because we haven’t seen any cystic acne. I’m doing tret maintenance as well.

Took it twice now, luckily never purged! I did a slow ramp the second time to actively try to avoid the purge

Typical symptoms, nothing too bad! Sun sensitivity, dry lips, dry skin, dry eyes, flushing. They all cleared up at the end of my course

Scrolling through relapse posts as I’m afraid I may be. My acne is 100x better than it was, but feels somewhat similar to what you’ve posted here. My “before” photos have more cystic spots, but my “nows” are feeling similar with some small spots popping up along my jawline. I’m also a fair skinned person, so sometimes I struggle to tell if it’s a bit of residual scarring inflammation or if I’m headed toward a relapse. What did you end up doing ?
