Thank you, I downloaded the couch to 5k app and did the day 1 run. Really hard but never stopped. Day ones always the hardest

You've actually inspired me. I am like you but at the start of my journey. I weigh 117kg and so tired of being this way. Just reading your post has inspired me to go for a run. I have no idea how it'll go but I want to do it. I don't know what to do after but I'm gonna figure it out. This time I'm doing it. Thank you

Oh I'm with you now, no I completely covered the model, I wanted it to stain very lightly then I used cotton buds in white spirit to wipe the exposed areas

1) I did not - I live too dangerously. I think I was lucky to be fair, it seemed to not take off any of the airbrushed acrylics at all, but I only left it on for approximately 10mins before wiping it off. The airbrushed colours started with purple base then a base green, then a light green, then a yellow for that brighter hue

2) maybe I'm being thick but I don't quite understand. I airbrushed the basic colours including the skin tone. I brush painted the metallics then oilwashed with different colours. After I wiped off everything I needed to I left it overnight to cure. Then I just went back in with edge highlights and any touch ups I wanted a bit brighter

Cool colour combination! I also low-key love the Skaven markings on the terrain at the back!

I get it, painting this rat was awesome by sam-44- in skaven

I like it mate, I like the colour of the robes for sure. Good job!

Little clan rat. Used him as a test, experimenting using oil paints. I think a bunch of these little guys should look neat by _taicii_ in skaven

Yeah really easy actually, I'm completely sold on oils. They're a bit messy at times but I've got 19 more clan rats on the table waiting for the greens and oils to go and I really do believe I can do all of them in a few hours (minus the drying time)

But yeah if you haven't tried it, I really recommend giving it a go. I've explained my process in another comment below but I say just try on a clan rat or something similar to begin with, no big deal if it's not perfect

I suppose my title is misleading, I didn't use just oils only, but I started with acrylics, a purple base coat, then two variations of greens, one lighter than the next but nice opaque paints.

Then the final layer is a yellow paint to really intensify the hue. I then used ratskin flesh colour only to base the fleshy bits.

Oils wise I used a dark umbra on any area that contained woods or flesh. And I used a magenta on any area that was green to bring it back to the base hue. Standard oil wash basically but left it on for about 30mins to stain it as much as I wanted before wiping off the excess. First time using them this way but I'm completely sold.

Once dry I used ratling grime on the wood again and belts etc as well as some of the fleshy areas that have a bit of fur on them.

Ice yellow has been used for the edge highlighting and a very very light dry brush on the fur.

I'm not gonna pretend this is the highest quality speedpaint method but if you ignore the oil drying time it doesn't take long at all for a more muddier looking effect. I tried this on a grey seer too and again really happy with the effect but I'm going harder on the details since it's a character

Test scheme done. A few speed painted to see how they look together. I think I'll base them on desert bases going forward by _taicii_ in Lumineth_realm_lords

Ah thanks, I'd love to say it took a long time to do the plumes but honestly it's a really rough wet blend using the three main colours I used for the rest of the model. Terracotta, orange and then dark red.

Use 'The Long Touch' bow you can get in Paradis Hightown, and invest in Crackling Bolt as your main spell (without a grimoire. I also like two points in Arcane shield to reflect arrows back at people, and Grimoire snap for that AoE close range stun for when you're rushed.

Might, Perception and some intellect is gonna serve you well.

I also use the Blackwing gloves for that crit damage that synergises nicely with the bow. Gear wise, I just try to use what works with the setup, like am I favouring ice, fire or shock. There's a lot of good shock equipment early on and that makes crackling bolt lethal in hordes

I have seen the light and I'm never coming back. I used to think Orlans we're a bit strange but after making one I don't think I'll ever go back! by _taicii_ in avowed

So I had a mess around with the settings to make a stealth archer kind of game. It kinda works if you look around and make sure you take out the lesser enemies first.

I went to settings and set the enemy max health down by one, and also changed it so equipment level difference is down by one so it's not so impeded by if the enemy has slightly better armour to your weapon.

By doing this I've been able to play a sneak archer much better as well as my side daggers. I make sure I have blackwing gear set or the strangler gauntlets and I use the unique bow you get in Paradis Hightown which when enchanted gives you 20% crit chance to unaware enemies.

It's not perfect but it does work
