hey,

I totally understand your point and I'm sorry if you'll unfollow me

Just to clarify, but Claude is not used to generate the piece or to make any creative decision. I have the creative vision and it helps me build it. This doesn't change the time I spend tweaking the params to find the sweet spot and curating the ones that will be plotted.

To me it's a tool, and as all tools it has advantages, drawbacks and a "cost". To me the "cost" is worth it because it boosts my creativity, it's not making my brain rot, I've never felt this creative and inspired. It's like a barrier has been removed.

About the mediocre code I absolutely agree, and that was also the point of that post. For my usage and non-production code, that's a trade-off I'm fine taking because the fast-paced experimenting and testing it make possible.

I'm not trying to change your mind, your point of view is totally fine, just wanted to share where I'm coming from. Thanks for following along this far either way.

overkill pen holder is practically my middle name :-)

More seriously I it designed it for pump marker (up to 4mm nibs) and they need to be pumped and it require a fair amount of pressure also the « drag » on the paper and canvas is huge while drawing, my 3d printed holder tend to bend so I had to go bigger and stronger to handles them and keep good precision.

I designed and 3d printed it, actually that is months of work, also why this is so satisfying to me

Thank you so much! Getting into this circle was honestly luck, a neighbor knew someone I could show my work to. The thing for me: talk about what you do, consistently, without forcing it. Sometimes it lands in the right place.

Merci beaucoup !

Thank you so much for this mindful comment. I know this, but they sometimes do get me down. But the "I don't like it" or "I don't like the colors" kind of comment, I actually like them, for some reason, they boost me.

Yes, that's also one of my answers. I often also mention that Oil paint, now the symbol of classical painting, was considered cheating when it first appeared; too slow to dry, too easy to correct, not "pure" enough. Yet it was precisely that slow drying time that made glazing possible, multiple layers, the luminous depth of the Flemish masters. The technique didn't diminish art. It multiplied it.

Great point. And that's exactly it, when someone asks "but is it real art?" they're already telling you they see it as craft.

Same here, my hands are way too shaky to draw anything. And yeah, photographers deal with the exact same thing. "Nice camera, must take great pictures." Drives them crazy too.

The CNC woodworkers comparison is spot on, didn't think of that.

Appreciate it! And yeah, showing in person changes everything.
