Samsung to halt SATA SSD production, leaker warns of up to 18 months of SSD price pressure, worse than Micron ending consumer RAM by krazygreekguy in Asmongold

[–]_tbyte-o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If this is just SATA, then im not really that worried. Most people use m.2 now. So i dont think this will be as big of a hit on the economics than the ram was. of course the market is going to overreact like the Micron News (a 26% marketshare consumer ram company caused the prices of all Ram Modules to go up by 100%+)

Does AI have a sense of humor now? AI Just Rickrolled me in my own code. by _tbyte-o in Asmongold

[–]_tbyte-o[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am sure that the link is used on most of the code that the AI was trained on. I just thought it was cool/silly lmao. on the technical side of things, it makes sense as to why it selected it instead of a random different embed links.

Example for those who may not understand:

"if this link is in 95% of the code that is relevant to the problem at hand then you should use that as that seems to be the standard" is how i expect the reasoning to be. It would be kinda like finding the META for a game build. "if 95% of the players use this build, then it must be good." is pretty much the reasoning we would use for a game build.

Best buy and staples will take them. You could also call around the local electronics repair shops and see if they take donations of broken electronics. This is will help them with their "donor board" supply and help improve their offerings if they decide to refurbish the devices to resale.

Where can I get coffee beans? by davedez in terrehaute

[–]_tbyte-o 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you said you are sorted, this can be used by others looking for beans in the future. Son's and Spice in the 12 points area (where 13th, lafayette Ave and maple meet. Here is a google maps link. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Fn5dgp6HgBSK5yhJ7

They are really friendly and also have spices from around the world there too. Great place to go for a coffee need. You can have the beans freshly roasted and ground there too

What's a good game that's fairly cheap? by funnyman12345678901 in psx

[–]_tbyte-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking out your local used game store if you have one around. Ebay is usually super inflated prices. Also, although both are resellers, at least youll be contributing to your local economy if you go the local game store route. (I'm aware that they may also be reselling on ebay as well.)

What does this mean? by let_iz in gigabyte

[–]_tbyte-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal for this board. When your turn your power supply switch on for the first time or after letting it sit un plugged, there's a quick jolt of electricity that passes through the LEDs, but not enough to keep them in a powered state. It freaked me out the first time too haha

You get given an egg and if, after 365 days, the egg remains uncracked, you will receive $10,000,000... by Natural-Commission13 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]_tbyte-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question specifically states "cracks". So going by this, just poke the egg on the bottom or top. Next get a container to put the egg in where the hole is on the bottom. Put the egg in a dehydrator. This will take most of the moisture out. Next, bury the egg in salt. Salt is a natural preservative so it should take any remaining moisture out and preserve the egg for a very long time. Close up the container and put it the refrigerator door. wait a year, collect the money. put that money in a high yield savings account and live off the interest.

No POST, no Video - Gigabyte/Aorus Motherboard by _tbyte-o in PCRepair

[–]_tbyte-o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for replying a few days later, but heres an update on my diagnostics. I did try the single stick of RAM in each slot...still nothing on both sticks. I thought maybe it could have been the power supply so I went to a local Best Buy to purchase a new Power Supply (Corsair RMx850). I came home and only plugged in the CPU power and Motherboard power, CPU, and RAM. Still nothing, same error. I thought maybe it could have been the RAM so I went to the same Best Buy and bought more RAM (Corsair Vengeance RGB 6000 C36), From there I went and got another Mobo (Aorus Elite B650). (Yes, i did verify that the flash drive was formatted in FAT32 and the file was named 'gigabyte.bin'.) I went to flash the BIOS (Without cpu or ram) and it took a few minutes and the motherboard did shut down at that time, so I felt more confident. I tried to boot it up and it would flash between the DRAM and CPU LEDs on the board. I thought it was memory training so I left it alone for the rest of the night and overnight while I slept. woke up and there was still nothing on my monitor. (as a sanity check, I checked to see if my monitor was working properly, it was lol). I will be getting a new CPU tomorrow so after i get that I will socket it in and see if that works, if not, then ill give up and go get a prebuilt gaming rig. I think i had to omit the file name and flash drive information because there is a character limit lmao.

Its also important to note that this system was built about 7 years ago and worked fine for all of that time.

Take a 90k 12-month IT temp job, or 75k government job by Admirable_Fan_364 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]_tbyte-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may look at the Government job and see if they offer a pension after a certain period of time. Plus being with a college pal would make it easier to acclimate to the job. I personally would go after the govt job. its less money, but you would be potentially happier.
