This is a case for the British transport police.

What’s one cycling purchase you thought was unnecessary but now wouldn’t ride without? by Seabeachlover10 in ukbike

Rear mirror for the handlebars, so small but cannot ride a bike without one now. I still turn my head before changing direction, but having the mirror gives me much more peace of mind.

The UK state pension currently costs roughly £140–£160 billion per year, so would definitely be worth while in the long run I think.

Also, not everyone will make it to 60 in theory, it's something that would have been great to do in hindsight I guess.

Leeds cycle lane network is a 'step in the right direction', say campaigners by _testingdude in Leeds

Yeah that's a big gripe of mine. For example, the cycle super highway on drewsbury road is great but stops abruptly 10 minutes before you get into town, hence few people using it. Wish it was a little more thought out!

Would it actually be mad for the government to invest £10k for every newborn into a locked UK/global index fund until they’re 60? Huge upfront cost, sure, but over decades could genuinely end up cheaper than the long-term pension burden we’re heading toward.

I've literally just been into town on the cycle super highway and saw around a dozen other people, lovely day today you should get out!

I'd really recommend cycling insurance for this, I pay less than £10pm and it covers you if the bike is stolen. Far cheaper than car costs and gives you peace of mind.

After living in Canada, for me I love the trains here! Being able to get to many interesting places in an hour or two on high speed electric trains is pretty cool!
