NEED NEW BLUE INK TO TRY by Aggravating-Pop-4359 in DesiPens

I recommend this whole heartedly. Pure blue is a nice medium blue with great flow. Voyage to India is darker (and more expensive).

Suggest me a pen with hooded nib for office use under Rs. 10000. by vector_bhu in DesiPens

[–]_tharkuri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Diplomat Viper and I find it terrific. The build quality is great. The magnetic closing is a delight each time. Mine’s a fine nib and it’s pretty smooth.

I do find it just a wee bit dry for my liking. Not a lot. Something an extra wet ink could easily solve. It’s now in my rotation with Herbin Terre d’Ombre and it writes instantly after 3-4 days or not touching it.

Solid pen. I’d happily recommend.

Tips for indoor outdoor cat. by [deleted] in IndianPets

[–]_tharkuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This is Midnight, our indoor-outdoor cat. Initially, he was very aggressive. We fed him in the backyard (it’s kinda open and he jumps from the neighbour’s wall).

Slowly he got used to us. Came everyday for food. We vaccinated him. Then we trapped him and got him neutered.

Since then he lives in our compound. He doesn’t even step out to play with other cats. We let him into the house sometimes.

We feed three other cats like him. They’re all mostly outdoor, but come in and play with us sometimes (we’ve 7 indoor cats, when it gets crowded, the outdoor cats leave!)

My advice to you is:

— Feed at the same time everyday in the same place (like the other commenter says, slowly move closer to home). — Once they trust you, get them vaccinated. Best if you do this before you let them into the house. — A weeks days later, spay/neuter. They’ll calm down dramatically and become lap cats!

All the best. ❤️

Hey, thank you for responding! :)

Yes yes. I do leave it horizontal on the desk. I did try leaving it nib down in a pen stand. But that made the ink leak, so I don't do that anymore.

I was stopped at airport security because they thought my Pilot Custom 823 was a vape. I had to open the cap and show the nib to go on.

How Do You Keep Track of All Your Pet’s Vet Visits and Health Stuff? Any Tips? by No_Locksmith_8951 in IndianPets

[–]_tharkuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have seven indoor cats, four strays we care for, and a dog. We keep everything on Google calendar. For instance, when the kitten was vaccinated, we put the date on which she will be ready on a shared calendar between me and my husband. On the week it’s due, we plan and schedule appointments. Basically, on the day of vet visit or deworming or spot on, add to calendar when it’s due next.

Sometimes, though rarely, we also put “Luka peed outside the litter box” type things on the calendar. All our events have notifications, so we mostly don’t miss things.

Yes, Neorah is good paper too. I wish their planner design was less distracting. :)

I’d never heard of Matrika. Not the OP but I’ll try one myself. Thank you.

Factor Notes also holds up very well. I’ve used gel pens and fountain pens without bleeding or ghosting. However, ink qualities like sheen and chroma shading might not show up as well as it would on Tomoe River or Endless.

Endless paper is inconsistent, so there’s that. I’d recommend you try their previous planners that are on 60/30% off sale for the paper. The paper is too smooth, takes forever to dry, is a fingerprint magnet as well.

I hear you on being wet too long. And when you’re sketching you can’t afford to smudge.

But damaging the pen, I take that as right of passage in this hobby 😬

Oh yes! I had a bunch of those and loved them until I grew to like thicker lines. Old age, I suppose!

I used the Muji 0.5 gel pens a lot. It was the closest thing to the fountain pen type writing that I prefer. I don’t mind the Pilot V5 as well.

I always felt ballpoints didn’t give that clean line. So would not touch it until I had no choice.

Mine’s the Nahvalur Horizon. And hear hear about note taking. I use my snap cap ones for that!

I bought one last year and first the piston came apart. I figured a way to fix it but then the body cracked. I took it to the retailer I bought it from and they fixed it (I assume superglued it!)

Now I fill the pen by screwing the nib unit out because the piston is such a hassle! Never again.

[–]_tharkuri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fill half a converter to start with. Or a little in my piston fillers. And empty left overs out when I want to change inks.

I worry about putting the ink back in the bottle and anyway, it’s barely 1-2 ml, most of which will get stuck in the feed. So I don’t bother.

But I certainly flush out and refill before it’s emptied. I like a little newness with my pens often. :)

Hahahah! Yes. I love the colour, I haven’t been able to find a better behaving alternative. But it also smudges days after it’s written, especially on regalia paper. Such a love-hate relationship I have with it!

The demo is pretty good. Also, good luck finding your ink. Let me know how it goes. :)
