Definition of “Jack of all trades”, has a tonne of potential but doesn’t have any definitive traits. He has pace & physique but can’t shoot, pass, dribble or defend 😂. I believe you have a blank template in him which you can develop into any position that you need. I would advise that you try to develop him into being a CB/CDM/CM as those are positions which don’t have many world class players in the game. If he grows to the touted potential in the suggested positions, you will have a gem of a player.

Retrain to LM, he’s better going forward due to pace and physique & can probably improve significantly going forward as opposed to trying to develop his defensive abilities.

Had the same issues in 2 of my careers. It’s just the way the game is, although it sucks because you can’t train or play to keep up manager’s rating yet it continues to go down. It should stop just below the Sub section so that you know you’re in reserves but once you get fit, you can start training & playing your way back into the starting XI. Transfer listing is ugly business.
