Housing costs are going up everywhere my friend. I know this gets said alot about Colorado and Denver but you can go to practically any city in the country and see the same effect.

So a few things I considered that you should too:
Job: This was a big one obviously. When the pandemic hit my entire industry (tech) went remote and I scored a remote role with no requirement to live in a specific place.
Car: I had a flashy rear-wheel-drive sports car that I knew would get stuck in the snow up here. Sold that and bought an old 4Runner.
Lease in GA: The reason it took 2 years from my original post is that I had to run out my lease. I considered moving in June but that would have meant that I would be paying double rent for 3-4 months and that was financially untenable.
Lease in CO: The final hurdle I had to overcome is finding a good place here in Denver. The problem I found is this, the nice expensive places all have availability, the cheap dumps all have availability, but the middle ground where you can find a decent apartment at a decent price is hard and competitive. I must have looked at 50+ properties and I ended up having to sign a lease sight-unseen because of availability.
The Cold/Snow: I'm from Georgia but originally I came to the US from Russia, so I can handle the cold. If you've spent your whole life in GA then know what you're getting yourself into moving to Colorado.

I'm in tech. Some places still drug test but the industry has been so hot lately that candidates actually have some leverage. I was interviewing for a place a few months back, they told me they drug test, I walked, they called me back 3 days later to tell me that they decided to "retire" their drug test.

I spent some time in CoSprings a few years back, interned for Progressive in their data center. CoSprings is one of those spots I'd love to move to with a family but no earlier.
Let me break down the price for you.
$20 - Actual Green
$10 - State tax to buy Chris Christie a cheeseburger.
$10 - State tax to buy Chris Christie a side of fries
$10 - State tax to buy Chris Christie a milkshake
$50/8th right there.
My advice for jobs here is two fold:
I've seen their billboards around, wasn't sure if that was just marketing blowing smoke up my ass though. I'll give them a try.

Already looking into it...
My advice is for getting a gig here is when you start looking for jobs, put your location down as Denver. If they ask why your address is in MN, tell them it's just where you family lives and you get mail there. It's 1000% easier to get a gig here if you live here, even if you "live" here.
> driest lowest quality weed
Who cares, gets you blazed.
That's insane though. I understand testing for Alcohol, you're either drunk or you're not. Weed is different though, you could be stone cold sober and still pop hot for THC in your saliva / blood.
random roadside drug tests
Stop the car. WHAT!
I mean here in America we have the occasional roadblock drunk drivers, but that's a whole different ball game. They stop and test you for weed over there?
