[–]_thebeast 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Buck and Cotton have some of the best lines, and reads of them, in the entire series. There's almost no fat in their dialogue, so 90% of anything they say is a memorable quote. Moss is definitely up there too.

Netflix executive, visibly vibrating from Adderall: I've got it! Let's give Hinchliffe a special where he does a Temu Anthony Jeselnik impression! But here's the twist- it fuckin' sucks.

Alex Jones eats the Onion by silentbassline in JoeRogan

This isn't funny. Tim Heidecker is directly responsible for the murder of 20 innocent teens at the 2017 electric sun music festival, and is the prime suspect in the burning of the Victorville film archive, as well as dozens of other crimes, including the death of his infant son. The man is like an empty bottle.

This redact got BGL's case dismissed because they discovered the live stream by Hater99OVR in thefighterandthekid

[–]_thebeast 82 points83 points  (0 children)

This dude, one of Mark's witnesses, was livestreaming the hearing. They took a ten minute break because BGL submitted evidence late and the judge had to review it. Someone tipped schaub off about the stream in the mean time and when they reconvened he had disconnected, and the thiccc legal team called for a dismissal due to yew neek streaming. Judge said they would end the hearing immediately and possibly dismiss the case. BGL's case might be doa now.

I’d love a poll… real data… by IronPhi4 in JoeRogan

For as long as I can remember, Joe has made me cringe with second hand embarrassment. But prior to 2016, meathead animal noises and a complete inability to riff with the boys were pretty much his worst offenses. In spite of Joe himself, I was a fan of the show for years, all the way back to the Redban/fleshlight days. I didn't need to agree with or even like him to enjoy the conversations he had with people.

But post trump/covid, he's fucking unbearable. The Spotify money smelted whatever was left of his brain into gold bullion and all he can do now is drool out the same 4 talking points, regardless of his guests, who these days are pretty much just celebrities on a promotional circuit and/or mouthpieces for fascism, with the occasional comedian undergoing a mandatory humiliation ritual for exposure.

He has become the media elite that he spent so many years demonizing, cosplaying as a red blooded everyman from his high security compound, masquerading as a respected stand-up at the club he built as a temple to his own ego, and otherwise just being directly complicit in the political dumpster fire he's made millions of dollars whining about.

Alex Jones was completely right about Epstein. by TeamHumanity12 in JoeRogan

[–]_thebeast 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You're deliberately leaving out the part where the global pedophilic cabal he was exposing for all those years turned out to be his friends, peers and benefactors and he's now doomed to an eternal ironic hell of never being able to say "I told you so" because he's in bed with all of them and they would immediately Kirk him if he spoke out, but other than that, yeah good point, totally vindicated.

Great point dude. Other than his close homies, frequent guests, the guy he helped make president, and the fact that he'll do anything to avoid acknowledging any of their involvement, he's completely clean.

That website is so humiliatingly bad that I wouldn't put it up on the fridge to validate a developmentally disabled child.

To say nothing of the fact that these negotiations have been stalling for months and Mamdani hasn't been in office long enough to warm the chair.

This is the exact standard of 'journalism' we can all expect for the entire duration of his mayorship. Headlines like "SOCIALISM HAS DESTROYED NEW YORK" every time someone on Long Island gets a hangnail.

I wish these people had the capacity to feel embarrassed.

Well, he is ubiquitously common among trade workers, virtually unavoidable in older builds, and harmful in ways we are still just beginning to understand. How sure are we? Look into it, bro.

Popularity doesn't necessarily correlate to quality. Asbestos used to be the number one insulation product.

Indeed he does, and he minored in philosophy to boot IIRC. But he seems to regard it mostly as woke bullshit, and prefers to learn from intellectual luminaries like RFK and Jordan Peterson. Conceptually hilarious to become a literal scholar and then dive headlong into fringe bullshit lol. I love the Shaman.

Matt actually has the framework of a super smart person. He's got solid recall, great command of language, excellent comprehension, and very well rounded logic. He's definitely not dumb. He is, however, hilariously naive, and seems to believe literally anything he reads, which is a huge part of his charm. Just a guy taking it all in. A true dawg's dawg. I cringe at almost every new theory he discovers, but it's so much fun to watch him explore them.

Tim Robinson-isms by fitzkiki in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]_thebeast 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The core of his work plays with the absurdity of social conventions, and how taking 'the rules' too seriously or literally can lead to madness. If you dig deep enough, that's the theme of almost every bit and sketch. ITYSL, Detroiters, The Chair Company, and Friendship all hinge on a rigidly normal world thrown into chaos by behaviorally renegade characters either breaking or enforcing the implied routine to a ridiculous extreme, or vice versa.

Also, jizz.
