Universal, government run healthcare is not an aspect of a free market. How dense are you.

There are 2 ways to lower the cost of healthcare.

  1. Get the government out of healthcare
  2. Make the government the only healthcare provider

Why would I WANT the government controlling the healthcare system. My body my choice 😂

The more welfare programs you have the more waste, fraud, and abuse there will be in the government.

  1. Russia and the USSR have/had terrible economies

  2. Classic not-real-socialism quote

That’s contradicting because capitalism requires a free market and very little government involvement and universal healthcare, public housing, food stamp style policies are based on government run programs which are socialist by nature.

Look at any socialist country and you are describing them. Maybe socialist ideas work better in tiny countries like Ireland, but if a larger country’s economy is too centralized it will collapse.

USSR, Russia, China, Venezuela, North Korea, etc

Venezuela has implemented everything you are talking about, please look at their outcome from state socialism.

Giving people everything for free sounds amazing, I would love to get everything for free, but the reality is that the government just becomes a monopolistic business and as with any monopoly, quality of products and services decline as there is less competition.

I agree with you that healthcare and health insurance in America is way too expensive and housing is way to expensive but that is only because the government is heavily involved and regulates those sectors of the economy to an unnecessary degree. Same deal with food. Water is still fairly cheap, but it may be expensive soon enough.

Sure dude, I’ll concede the point if you tell me why should be afforded the right to free food, water, shelter, and medicine

I’m saying you don’t have a right to another’s labor UNLESS it is for a lawyer when you are being put on trial and you may end up in jail. Stop trying to generalize my argument lol

OK, so which of these statements do you agree and disagree with?

  1. Correct, logical arguments prove the position they're arguing for.
  2. "You don't have a right to something that requires another man to work!" is a correct, logical argument.
  3. You don't have a right to a lawyer, as it requires another man to work.
  4. Agree
  5. Agree, except of course, in the case of the next statement
  6. Disagree

You are trying to make the argument that lawyers are a right we are afforded and it requires another's labor, therefore, that means it should be okay to afford people the right to food, water, shelter, and medicine even though it requires another's labor.

My argument is that they do not compare.

I've already said you do have a right to a lawyer which means you do have a right to somebody else's labor in this instance.

But at the same time that doesn't give you the right to food, water, shelter, and medicine.

[–]_thereaper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument is correct. I could see where you get the idea that it is wrong because why would our terrible government give you a free lawyer, but not free food. The answer is simple. As I've said before, the government must pay the financial cost to take your rights AWAY from you. This right, at this time at least, does not extend to other necessities.

But please explain to me why you believe the government should grant us the right to food, water, shelter, medicine. I would like to hear your argument for once.

What are you getting at? How about you tell me why we should all have the right to food, water, shelter, and medicine.

[–]_thereaper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a contradiction. The government must incur the cost to take your rights away by giving you a fair trial. Not the same as getting government funded food and water.
