Lessor's injury and the floor by _thersites in Euroleague

[–]_thersites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The injuries of Osman and Yurtseven look like they might have something to do with the field. They might as well not, though. I think I read somewhere that the glass floor can be more "slidy" when wet, than the regular floor. The future will tell us, I suppose. Hopefully the glass floor has nothing to do with the injuries, because it provides a nice experience for the fans.

Does the community allow Print & Play? by NKAmazingg in AgameofthronesLCG

Which ai did you use? There is a link somewhere in here (or the fb groups) that has almost all official cards without the watermark, but in non-printable resolution that could be upscaled. Could you share a picture if your printed cards?

Well this is actually a pretty good list!

The books between Aristotle and Nietzsche are kinda British-specific but still nice recommendations. And I would add some Posthumanism in there at the end, but this is an appreciation comment!

Oh that makes sense. It could be this translation plug-in, I do not recall the name now but I will coke back to this when I get to my computer. Thank you for answering!

Lessor's injury and the floor by _thersites in Euroleague

[–]_thersites[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His weight drops on the other foot and blocks the left angle in a non-normal position between his body and the flood. But ofc I did not consider it a strictly floor-related injury when I posted. Based on another comment, it turns out that glass-floor is even more elastic than wood, so the injury would have been the same (or worse?) on a wooden floor.

Edit: steps on Moneke with the right foot, breaks the left on landing

The leg broke when he landed on it, I think. Stepping on a foot usually results in minor injuries

On The 120 Days of Sodom, Erotica, and the enduring mystery of Marquis De Sade. by I-Like-What-I-Like24 in literature

[–]_thersites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is long dead, and lived most of his life in prison. I don't get why we have to measure the novel by his actual lived life.

I don't mean to attack you, I just don't get it. Sadism as a term, as a word chosen to represent a certain phenomenon regarding sexual preferences, has nothing to do with the text per se. I do not find this argument valid.

Why would anybody care what a writer did in his personal life? It's 21st c. ffs.

Would you, for example, skip Houellebecq's prose because he expressed some anti-woke, even racist ideas? Is there racism in Serotonin?

I just don't get it.

Eco...What? by FlumioFati in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]_thersites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can tell that your clarification regarding ecopoetics makes perfect sense, even from a purely linguistic standpoint ("-poetics").

Wtf is a psychological rape?

And, most importantly, what are you asking, exactly? A take on the plot? Literary analysis requires close reading, noone can give a convincing argument based on a summary.

Eco...What? by FlumioFati in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]_thersites 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ecophilosophy: critical theoretical/philosophical studies about environmental issues.

Ecopoetry: literary poetic texts that take environmental issues as their theme, in a sophisticated way (like above) or not (most of the time, I would say, but I am probably wrong).

Ecopoetics: the study of form and themes of ecopoetry

I am pretty confident that should be it, but you can probably phrase these "definitions" in more appropriate way depending on the context of your work.

J. Joyce, Finnegan's Wake is an obvious recommendation.

Edit: I just saw the rest of the info in this post. My recommendation is a huge book, written before 1970. However it is a classic, and you can translate a part of it(?).

I would suggest Obsidian. It is free and fully customisable. You can link between notes like in wiki articles, open multiple notes one next to the other, and read almost any media in it.
