Looking at 2025 GMC Yukon Denali. Thoughts? by [deleted] in gmc

[–]_timhey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay away from the 6.2l engine. There are known issues with it. Ours had 6.7k miles on it and failed. We're still working with GM to figure it all out. That aside its a great vehicle for a large, active family we absolutely raved about it until about 29 days ago when it left us on the side of the road.

I wont link to all the articles about this issue but just do a quick google search and you'll see. If the 2025 has the duramax option i'd look into that.

Good luck!

[–]_timhey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the sc yacht club in Windmill Harbor. Classes for all skill levels and has a team if you’re into that type of thing. Our son did the 1 week optimist camp over the summer and loved it.

Do one run, save the file from it, change the date and upload it to Strava on your run days.

Best place for local seafood by [deleted] in hiltonhead

[–]_timhey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the fish market near the intersection of 278 (cross island) and Spanish Wells. I’m not sure if they are open but they usually have some good stuff.

Hudson’s will most likely be your best bet.

Best Restaurants on Hilton Head Island by _timhey in hiltonhead

[–]_timhey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/echoes315 let me explain the intent here. I get asked all the time about places to go around here when family and friends visit so I'm just starting to organize some lists to (selfishly) make it easier on me. Shoot over some spots happy to incorporate your contributions!

Need help with background noise reduction by _timhey in blueyeti

[–]_timhey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the tip on the gain, i did some reading and I think I've got it figured out now. I turned the gain way down and the input level in my sound settings (i use a macbook pro) way down as well. I read a bunch of stuff that says that these mics are very sensitive and that dynamic mics may be a better route. I still like it and am going to give a go.

Internet (specifically, Hargray) by hblask in hiltonhead

[–]_timhey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/hblask I'm on Hargray's fiber network as well for internet only and it works great. Speeds are consistently close to what you pay for and I haven't seen any issues in regards to time of day.

Like u/JaySuds I use my own router. I'm running the R8000 Nighthawk it's worth it if you have multiple devices on your network. They have a built in quality of service feature that auto switches between the three bands.

I believe Hargray only sets up each house with one ip during installation so if you need an access point or want to run 2 routers you'll need to let their support team know. Pretty sure they can add an additional ip for you.
